HF's 1/2" SAE drive impact set [harborfreight.com]for around $22 on sale/coupon is hard to beat for the price. Their similar Metric set [harborfreight.com] is missing a couple sizes, but especially the 16mm [1].
We have that same SAE set, but also Gearwrench made in Taiwan and SnapOn by Williams in complete SAE and Metric sets. For many, it boils down to price and the convenience of warranty... that may very well be whatever their local box store sells with a lifetime warranty.
For me, I want complete sets with no skips, easy warranty and although not a deal breaker, perhaps a case. If you buy incomplete sets in a case and then buy the sockets that are missing, most blow molded cases have no place for them.
[1] 5/8" = 15.875mm that will often work for 16mm.
You can use the 20% or ITC member 25% off. Icon tools are not excluded.
The tools are fine. Are they snap on quality? Course not. But a lot of mechanics will tell you snap on is the biggest rip off out there.
One of the best reviewed independent shops in my area is full of harbor freight tools. Hell snap on sued harbor freight for selling the same jack as them for a fraction of the cost.
I'm not saying they are indestructible. But most of their tools will work perfect for the vast majority of people that know how to use tools properly.
Stop being a fanboy for brands. Those companies don't care about you. And they all moved to china to be build by the same people who build HF tools. Crazy how some red or yellow paint makes people fork over money.
People on here tend to follow the herd mentality when it comes to HF. Same people that will use a regular non-impact socket on an impact, then bitch about how it exploded and blame it on the product.
HF made buying tools great again not sure why there is so much drama about them, really dont know. You get the same stupid repeat rants in HF threads like you do instacart threads etc. got your lovers and your haters...how about just be objective and make decisions based on whether the economics of the deal make sense for you.

No they didn't. HF sucks now. Menards beats them hands down if you have one in the area.

Pretty sure. I bought a motorcycle chock didn't know about 20% off coupon, went back next day with coupon and got difference.
Thanks. Told them straight out if they could just refund me the difference with the coupon and they did it with no issue.
