why are manufacturers so stingy with memory? it pains me to see 8 gb in writing in 20222!
You have to look for the price, isn't it? Pay more and get more ram or just do it yourself in case of this laptop which will be cheaper.

Can have sharp edges, it scratches my wood table pretty well. Ran those sharp edges through the under side of granite counter top to round them off and color back using Sharpies. Minor tint difference. The replacement rubber strips at the bottom cover are hard to find and expensive. That will add cost to your memory or SSD upgrade. Finger print scanner can't recognize most of the time. The screen orientation sensor doesn't work well, end up using iRotate software to do screen rotation manually. Otherwise works okay...

Why? I just bought 2 laptops customized with 8 GB each on purpose, will be upgrading them to 64 for $165 per.

We also have the same predicament in 2022. Can't believe that the problem persists centuries later. But least you guys have flying cars, right?

Main issue for me is lack of full keyboard, which dad needs.. else this checked all the boxes!
Hmm, but it does have a full size keyboard. Is this not what you meant? Confused

From the eBay listing: Keyboard: Full-size, backlit, nightfall black keyboard

FULL keyboard meaning no numpad. I hate this trend of omitting it.

My apologies if I'm misunderstanding, but... when I looked at the eBay listing, the photo of the laptop showed the keyboard, and it includes a numeric keypad. So, seems like a full keyboard.

Update:
I reviewed the eBay listing again and even though the picture shows a laptop with a numeric keypad, below in the details it mentions: "Numeric Keypad: false"

On the Best Buy link, folks who reviewed this complained that the photo shows a numeric keypad but it doesn't include one. Bad job, Best Buy! Booooo. I would be very angry to expect one thing and receive a different product. Not cool!!!

This model does not have Number pad and this refresh was done in 2021. In 2020, the model has a numpad. In 2021, HP releases 2 models of Envy x360 15, one with same chassis as the 2020 model but with CPU upgrade, Intel 11th Gen and Ryzen 5000 series and another with full redesigned chassis without numberpad. In 2022, HP is following that refreshed model now and the Numberpad version has been dropped completely.

Thanks for sharing that info. I wonder why it went through many changes. Usually 15.6" laptops have numeric keypads.

Not anymore. Right now, just getting a 15.6 or bigger Laptop does not ensure to get a Number Pad, especially the premium ones. The main reason I think is to make the device more thinner and slicker looking and reduce the overall dimensions. Now a days, Laptop Displays are getting almost bezel less and that enables manufacturers to place a bigger screen to a narrower and smaller chassis and hence the omission of the number pad. Also, some models utilize that space for Upward firing speakers.

Wow, I hadn't noticed this trend! I have to say that I do prefer my 14" Dell Laptop for its reduced size and weight. It's nothing fancy (Dell Latitude E5470 - the one with full HD screen Smilie) but it gets the job done. It also doesn't have a numeric keypad, but I would expect the omission as it's only a 14".

My laptop also has an older CPU (just missing the Windows 11 "officially supported" CPU list; I think the CPU is Intel Core i5-6300U from memory), so I will need to use one of the documented workarounds to install Windows 11, if I care to. I actually prefer Windows 10 so I will use that as long as I can on this laptop.

Thanks for the info!
