The display is actually brighter than 300-nits, around 324 nits, same panel from the Gen 2 model. Panel name is NV133WUM-N61, with 99.4% sRGB, 71.3% Adobe RGB and 70.1% DCI-P3. Contrast Raio is around 1200:1

It's good to see that Lenovo finally has the Ryzen 6000u series on hand to start delivering on their 2022 updates of their top Thinkpad/AMD models. I have an X13 gen 2 5650u which has great battery life, performance and portability. The keyboard does feel a bit cramped because it's not full size compared to 14-inch models like the T14 and the screen was very average (colors looked washed out compared to my previous T480s which I custom modded with an excellent screen panel). I also wonder if the smaller form factor would limit the performance of the 6850u compared to larger models like the T14 or T16, which presumably would have better airflow.

Yes and that is going to be case for any Thinner and smaller laptops compared to their bigger counter parts. These are Business Laptop 1st and if Lenovo allows very higher TDP in these 13.3" Subnotebooks, it will be hotter and also louder, not something you want in Business laptops. T14 is bigger and slightly thicker and Lenovo does allow 30W+ for Ryzen processors on that Laptop. I have a T14 with Ryzen 7 Pro 4750U 8C/16T and 400-nits 1080p and in CPU only loads, it goes almost 32 to 35W for short boost and then maintains around 28W-30W for a very long time, if you select Extreme Performance Mode in Lenovo Vantage Software.

Makes sense. I have the P16s you posted in the other thread on order but if the T14s gen 3 AMD comes down in price soon enough I might cancel it. The battery size issue on the P16s is what's giving me pause. No one knows if an 86whr battery can be swapped in (I would hope so but not sure).

great deal. Only thing I wish is Lenovo need to update these to 14".

BTW great collection of ports for ultra portable. Dell seem to have gone apple way in putting just usb-c ports.

They have multiple 14 inch ThinkPads like T14, T14s. So, why would they update their 13.3 series laptop to 14 inch?

I like how they still offer windows 10 on some models. Saves me the hassle of having to install it myself. Its too bad there isn't a 1600p screen option like the Intel version.

The X13 and T14s even share the same motherboard, at least in previous generations.

I bought a T14s recently within last 30 days and this seems to me like a good deal except the touch plus this is an AMD where as T14s is an Intel 10th I7 but X13 has the three year warranty - should I return the T14s and order this ?

If you're okay with 13.3" Screen size then I would say yes. You have a 10th Gen Intel version meaning you have 2 generation older version of T14s and 16:9 aspect ratio. This has 16:10 and you're actually going to get more vertical space and not loosing much of the screen estate.
2ndly, this has a Ryzen 6000 series CPU which is probably twice powerful than your 10th Gen i5/i7 in CPU performance and the GPU performance will be also more than twice. On top of that, these Ryzen CPUs are extremely power efficient, way more than an Intel 10th Gen. SO, despite getting far superior performance, you're going to get far superior battery life as well.

In my X13 G2, lenovo hard capped the max TDP of the 5650U to 21 watts. It is impossible for the processor to use more than that (there is no boost TDP in this machine). It would also be impractical since anything more I'm sure the laptop will become too hot.

Lack of higher res option is prob a blessing for most as it'll help with battery life. 1080p PPI at 13.3" should be great already

This is really nice. AMD recently released firmware to support thunderbolt via USB4. Even if this doesn't have that firmware right now, it'll definitely get it soon.

Thunderbolt/ USB4 is no longer exclusive to Intel and apple. This is honestly very exciting.
