Try some 3rd party APU Tuning Utility which can control the TDP of these Ryzen Mobile APUs and they're pretty easy to use. I use Ryzen Controller and AATU(AMD APU Tuning Utility). AATU is now being used by a lot of YouTubers who do these kind of TDP tuning, including ETAPrime. Give it a try.

Tried it several times but didn't work, probably because my CPU is a "pro" model, it has security features that prevent the CPU from going more than what Lenovo set the TDP.

Fair question. Response would be too long for a forum post but this guy explains it pretty well... he goes off topic later in the video but the first 10 minutes covers it for the most part.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcafzHL8iBQ

Richard Stallman article referenced in vid. It's obviously an old article and some of it no longer applies. However, the underlying problem still holds true IF TPM is required. https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/ca...st.en.html

Another article explaining how to bypass TPM Hardware requirements with edits to registry. Is this an acceptable solution... where users have to edit the registry? https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/...quirement/

Another noteworthy blog post. https://davescomputertips.com/the...about-tpm/

Finally, I'm running Windows 10 on an older Asus gaming machine that does not have the hardware implementation of TPM and I'm cool with that. I'm not against running Windows... just not Windows 11. I have a second machine running Mint Linux and like that OS too. Smilie
In those videos where the hell he is talking about issues of downgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 11? The discussion is about Secure Boot in Windows 10.
The 2nd link is about bypassing the Windows 11 TPM 2.0 requirement in devices without it and has nothing to do about downgrading to win 10 from an already win 11 supported pc.
I don't think you got any of those reads and videos property and trying really hard to prove your point by throwing some jargons. Share something stating the issues happening while downgrading from Windows 11 in a officially supported machine to Windows 10, which you're claiming. Not interested anything other than it.

I don't need a laptop, but this is a great deal if one does need it.

$1,095 before taxes with ID.Me discount.

I've been wanting a new powerful laptop for when I'm away from my desktop and after enough research this felt like a pretty solid deal.

Makes sense. I have the P16s you posted in the other thread on order but if the T14s gen 3 AMD comes down in price soon enough I might cancel it. The battery size issue on the P16s is what's giving me pause. No one knows if an 86whr battery can be swapped in (I would hope so but not sure).

This is really nice. AMD recently released firmware to support thunderbolt via USB4. Even if this doesn't have that firmware right now, it'll definitely get it soon.

Thunderbolt/ USB4 is no longer exclusive to Intel and apple. This is honestly very exciting.
It is USB4, but Thunderbolt 3. Just don't want people to expect TBT 4.

Radeon 680M I-GPU about 40% more powerful than a good Xe 96 Eu.

However, the 660M on the 6650U is HALF the cores and slower clock. Booo.

Ugh... when I see Win 11 attached to a PC these days... it's such a downgrade in my mind. Not trying to be anti-M$... but I honestly see very little value in that OS when compared to Win 10.
Windows 11 will be good and worth changing to by 2025. If not, just wait it out for Windows 12.

It depends on what matters to you. This laptop is a ThinkPad and is built like a tank with high quality parts. My ThinkPad X220 worked perfectly for 8 years and I was able to sell it for $300 after that (initial price ~$1000). It has Zen 3+ chips. USB4 support which includes the 40 Gbps Thunderbolt spec. LPDDR5 memory. Opal2 security. Much more energy efficient with 6nm TSMC process and lower TDP. 3 year warranty.
