    Just remember that 511 refers to the fit, which is pretty slim. The fabric can be of varying quality, especially with the cheaper ones. I've got some high quality 511s that have lasted forever and a crappy pair I bought from Amazon or Kohl's that are so cheap feeling that I never wear them.

    Much of that comes down to the material blend. On the Amazon page you'll see some that are a cotton/polyester/elastane mix while others are cotton/lyocell (a material synthesized from plant fibers)/elastane.

    But all of them are blends which keeps costs down while making them a bit stretchier. Personally I prefer 100% cotton in a proper fit and deal with an uncomfortable pair for a few days as they stretch to fit in. Just like a pair of quality leather boots. Then they'll last forever and be as comfortable as pajamas.

    Last time I bought these they were counterfeit. The "leather patch" was literally cardboard that fell apart in the wash. They were shipped and sold by Amazon.

    Skinnys are out, they're clearing them out. There's almost no skinny fitting clothes in any of the fall/winter 2022 fashion. If ya care about that sorta thing; baggy/loose fitting late 90's/early 00 is the play right now. This has to be the 50th pair of skinny/slims ive seen on sale in the past few weeks.

    These aren't skinny jeans. I wear the 511s with a BMI in the "overweight" category and these fit like normal jeans. The "regular" sizes feel like I'm wearing JNCO jeans or something.

    I've tried skinny jeans and hated them--these are definitely not that.

    Elastane/lyocell has been the worst thing to happen to jeans. I used to buy AE jeans all the time but now they are nothing but male leotards. I just spend the extra to get selvedge or 100% cotton denim.
