All that said, the 5.5oz freezes really well (ie, they don't explode) and will fit easily in day/waistpacks for hike/run/bike sweat replenishment. One or two cans placed next to a hydration bladder can help keep it cool on hot day adventures.
tldr: It's not only the salt, it's your genetics and activity level that will do the most damage.
