VPN into Argentina youtube and you can have it for under $1.50 a month. Once you start the sub, you can go back to US or whatever native servers you use with no difference in service.

Ive had YT Red/Premium since 2018 and it ABSOLUTELY changes how you use the service. Without the annoying ads, you are more comfortable "grazing" on videos which you normally would not watch. Esp true on the the phone where we have exponentially lower attention span.

I just went the VPN way and it WORKS !!

I used Turkey as is cheapest with the inflation ravaging the country there 70% year over year

HERE ARE THE STEPS:

• Make new Gmail Account, can put fake name, mine is "Catch Not"

• Turn on VNP with location Turkey

• Open Icognito Page in BROWSER

• Navigate to YouTube.com

• Sign in with the new email adress

• Click on the menu of the left, find "YouTube Premium" button

• Monthly is $16.99TRY - about $1 a month, or you can sub yearly and get a discount - $169TRY which is about $10 a year

• Click "Try For Free" button

• Will ask for Credit Card - add your regular credit card, or WHATEVER you want to pay with

• I used my every day credit card, and entered my actual name there (or it wont go thru obviously)

• Enter your Expiration Date and 3 digit code from the back of the card

• DO NOT ENTER BILLING ADRESS !!

• It did NOT ask me to put a residential adress on anywhere either.

• Just press pay, and enjoy YouTube Premium for less than $1 a month, and trust me, with the inflation will only get CHEAPER from now on!

You have to have a Visa or MasterCard from the country of origin. apparently, YouTube billing has caught wind of this hack and updated it's payment approvals to make this method worthless

This didn't work for me. I followed instructions and when I go to subscribe to YouTube premium, it says that it is not available. Am I missing something?

Nothing to worry about. I too was on an individual plan. Moved to family membership. No issues whatsoever.

Existing YouTube Premium or Music Premium members
Go to youtube.com/paid_memberships on a web browser.
Click Get family plan.
Click Get family plan again.
Click Upgrade.
Set up your Google family group.

I watch Youtube on the Apple TV, they have made changes and are absolutely blasting you with ads; 2 at the beginning and sometimes one every 2-3 minutes of content watched. I've searched for ways to block because it is getting so ridiculous.

I was browsing through pages and didn't find any new instructions to clarify how people are using a VPN to sign up successfully. On page 9 of this thread, the sane article is quoted stating that Google has shut this method down. If you somehow managed to make it work, good on you but there is nothing, "not true" about my post. It is accurate as articles, other users, and my own experiences show that the VPN subscription method is no longer reliable which means your situation seems to be an anomaly.

No luck for me sadly, even though I swear it's been a while since I've had a trial.

I do use the uBlock/Vanced combo on my computers and mobile devices, but both of our TVs are Roku and we're perfectly happy with that aside from YouTube ads (and lack of an official Twitch app, but that's easier to deal with). Kinda temped to try the VPN trick but don't want to risk my main account or start a new one lol... so I just deal with ads on the TV.
