This or Sony wh710n
These, the Sonys WH710N are overall weaker than anything else on the market.

The Anker ANC is also kind of weak when compared to AirPod Pros, AirPod Maxes, and anything in the Sony XM1/2/3/4/5 lineup. They're fine, but there are not provide near silence like the above will. But the sound quality on the Ankers will go head-to-head.

For a fraction of the price, these are great for casual use. Expect these to last a couple of years to satiate your craving for cheap headphones with ANC and whenever you're ready to spend $$$, can upgrade to the big boys.

Mics are also not great. AirPod Pros will give the best mic performance. Don't get these expecting to do calls in them. They can do it, but it's not worth it.

I only expect to use these in the office and on airplanes since they're a cheap pair of noise canceling headphones that can withstand some wear and tear.

Very odd question, but help is appreciated.

We have a child with misophonia. Certain sounds, like hearing someone chewing food are unbearable. Thankfully it's only the chewing and not more.

Can't eat dinner without wearing headphones. Can't be around another person snacking.

What are the best sound canceling headphones that are reasonably priced for a child to use them?

Haven't worn headphones since I was a kid. Do your ears go inside or do they just crush them?
These go over your ears (around them). They should not squish your ears too much (at all unless you have large ears).

You aren't going to get a set of active noise canceling (ANC) headphone that will do what you want. ANC works by using the microphone(s) in the headset and grabbing the external sound and sending it through a process where it isolates parts of it and inverts it (this is very over simplified). So, instead of hearing something you hear 'nothing', but it actually is making noise and so you feel pressure on your ears.

The problem is that this only works with somewhat constant and simple noise like an airplane hum and doesn't work well with sharp, immediate, quick sounds like claps. This will probably not remove the chewing sounds with the ANC to any real degree.

However the over-ear nature of the headphones will block out a decent amount of all noise, and playing something while wearing them will make hearing chewing very difficult.

It is not possible to tell you which headphones will work for you child because children are all different sizes depending on age and the fit of the headphones will be important in sealing out noise, and comfort will also be a factor. You will want to get something from a place like bestbuy where you can try them on and return them immediately if they aren't comfortable.

I have two pairs of SoundCore. I really like the sound quality, but the build is so bad that each one lasted 3-4 months, then the hard plastic on the headbands started to crack and fall off, the soft plastic (PU/faux leather) that covers the ear pieces started to come off. I had to use some duck tapes to fix them so that they can still work. Two pairs have exactly the same issues. Sony and Sennheiser should not do that, I guess.

Who's this kid eating meals with? Perhaps they need to learn how to chew with their mouth closed? I wouldn't wanna hear anyone chomping on their food either, manners?? Only chewing sounds I ever hear are from my dog.

Have you looked into hearing protection for sport shooting? Those are good at attenuating quick and loud bangs. I find ANC in the headphones like this post work best at covering up background noise that's constant (like airplane engines or office background chatter).

Can these be used wired? I need some headphones to work on video editing so I need sync without delay, I assume using Bluetooth will get me a delay.

Are these considered to be the Anker Q20's or Q30's? I've had the Q20s from Amazon for a while. They were a great price. Not the most comfortable, which is expected at this price, but they sound good and noise cancelling is effective.

This headset is way too boomy out of the box, so I'd recommend tuning it with EQ in Soundcore app to something like min/max/+2.5/+4.5/+2.5/max/+2/+4.5

Price went up to $53 but was able to apply SUMMER20SAVE coupon to bring it down to $42.4 before tax.
