Does anyone know why this a slick deal? Apple, Amazon and Spotify also offer Hi-Fi quality music with 3-4 month trials. Am I missing something special about Tidal?

I tried doing this with a new code but it says my existing sub with Best Buy needs to be cancelled but it has been cancelled since June? Verified on Tidal and through Best Buy. I don't really want to create a new account? Any ideas

Huh? Spotify is offering hi-fi quality music? Is that their 320 kbps quality you are referring to?

I know there have been rumors for years that Spotify was going to offer a quality that competes with Tidal, but they haven't yet released that tier, AFAIK.

Sounds like it's a 1 cent now but a big hassle later from all these comments
It hasn't been a huge hassle for me, this is the third time I have used a deal like this through BB and I just made sure to cancel my sub. YMMV

Are you unable to use your Tidal subscription? These subscriptions through Best Buy always give me a 1-month grace period, so my subscription is effectively still active for one month after it has expired. I don't know if that relates to your issue or not.

As someone in the music business and a total audiophile.. Tidal is awesome in regards to quality. Having the ability to listen to masters and HiFi is great. You can seriously hear things in songs that you've never heard before. This is the only streaming service I use for the past year plus. I have no issues streaming in the car and a lot of the music I listen to.. even a lot of obscure rock, punk, metal, reggae, indie, jazz, etc..stuff is on here.

In regards to payments and this deal.. I have zero input.

But the audio quality.. AWESOME!
I agree Tidal is great. I'm a paying member and very happy. But…they have no content/family controls and so I'm sadly about to cancel my account. No sense in paying for Tidal when I'm already paying $17/month for a Spotify Family account. Tidal, get with it and you'll have me back.

That's a good point. I don't have the family issue, but they should offer something along those lines.

So let me get this straight, you caught the fraudulent charge on day 1 but you still used it for 3 months and tried to cancel until right before the offer expired? I would have filed chargeback on day 1 if there is any fraudulent charge like this showed up. If they are crooks day 1 how can you trust them for 3 months?! I would call up and say I need cancellation and full refund prompto and get a cancellation confirmation with no BS attached. Call for chargeback at the same time. Don't give them the chance to prolong the whole thing.
No you misunderstood (probably because I'm not articulating properly).

I signed up for this special months ago. Never activated any of 3 code (I bought all 3 for 3 cents total). Cancelled 1 month into it. Fast forward to day before expiration (5 PM CST day before it expired). Saw a charge on my credit card from BB for $47.47 thinking wtf?
Went back to the BB profile page and saw it showed I never cancelled. Cancelled AGAIN and chatted with best buy trying to explain the situation and that I never activated the original codes and I caught it the day before the actual paid period has begun so I haven't used any of the services. Bunch of the reps blew me off. Demanded to speak to supervisor who checked things out and said I shouldn't have been charged.

Credit card chargeback filed within hours.

This entire scheme is completely corrupt from top to bottom. Not only do they not tell you that that BEST BUY is the one who is charging you (NOT TIDAL like every other free trial) and the cancellation has to happen on the BestBuy web site. When you try to cancel, the website will not show you cancelled "for several hours". Probably buggy code and trying to cancel 3 times never worked.

I am a SD vet and know how these things go but even I have a lot to learn. Next time, virtual credit card for sure.

I have had no issues doing this deal every 3 months on my account. Key is just wait till the old trial expires.
This really works?! Have you had any issues with this method yet?

So basically all you do is just let your tidal trial expire, then check out on Best buy again and that's all there is to it?
