I was going to buy a chromecast with google tv, is there any benefit this has over that? I use alexa voice commands, can this do more with alexa or better video upscaling or anything at all which makes it worth $20 more?
I have both in different rooms, and I'm happy with both. I like the Google TV interface more, but the Cube feels a little quicker/snappier. Both are fine, though.

As far as video quality, they're on different TVs with different specs. So I couldn't give you an apples to apples comparison.

The built in always-on Alexa is very nice if you don't already have a smart speaker in the room. It's a small thing, but I can't stress how nice it is to simply say, "Alexa, turn off TV" instead of hunting for the remote when you want to head out or go to bed. But I already have smart speakers that allow me to do this, so it's kind of redundant on the Cube.

One thing I really like about the Cube is the USB input which you can plug a webcam into and use for video teleconferencing. I do a bi-monthly Zoom get together with a bunch of my college buddies, and regular video calls with my brother's and sister's families who live in different states. It's so much nicer doing that from a living room couch than an office desk, or with a laptop or phone. The whole family can fit in the frame. People can come and go as they please. I'm honestly surprised couch conferencing hasn't become more popular.

Thanks. I have a nvidia shield for usb needs in the front room and the tv I'm getting, u8g has a built in mic for alexa so those won't benefit me. I was going to put this next streamind device on my old tv that is getting moved to the bedroom and kinda hoping for something closer to shield video quality and upscaling without the high cost of the shield, and because I have to use something to get around the slow OS on this 2017 LG.

This connects to a hdmi port on your TV. It is all independent of your cable box/programming.
These are suppose to allow you to change the channels of your cable as well and that's what I'd like to use it for. Says compatible with some cable and satellite boxes but can't find definitive info of it works with Xfinity (specifically their 4K box).

Some reviews say it doesn't work while some websites say yes when I did a quick search.

Doesn't the 20% require you have already done the trade in? Meaning I think they no money 6 allow you to trade in and get the credit right then and there
And if you Do have the Trade-in coupon, the 20% Q comes off the Regular price first, bringing the price down to $36. Plus whatever Gift card $ amount Amazon gave you for your Trade-in.

$120- 20% Q= $96- $60 Lightening discount= $36 .

hands free... LOL! if the voice recognition is anything like their hockeypucks, it'll take you a day and a half to find the show you want.
Mine works great with my TV, can even customize the inputs and tell it to switch to that...the speed and wifi have been great on it...debating about getting another...I named mine Echo and it will randomly hear things on TV since its right next to the speaker bar and thinks something is saying its name. The mics pick up pretty good.

For those with a 20% trade in credit, this deal gives the 20% discount to the full undiscounted price - so the trade in credit is $24 off for the sale price. Final price for me was $35.99 plus tax.

Thanks for the info. I was going to use my Discover 30% off (takes it off of original price too) but I'd rather same that for another item. Will see if I can get the trade in 20% off coupon instantly, not sure if there's a way to tell right away before submitting if you'll get it instantly or not.

I just need to make sure this will work with Xfinity as far as using your voice to change channels. They supposedly work with certain/most cable boxes.

Check the Wiki of this thread. https://slickdeals.net/f/15886546-echo-show-2nd-generation-with-blink-camera-with-trade-9-99-ymmv-44-99-w-out-trade-at-amazon?src=frontpage

There's an image posted during the Trade-In process that you should see if you qualify. Basically it's the words "INSTANT" in green. There's about 4 questions you have to answer regarding your trade-in to get to that point, but you can still back out if you don't qualify (or like the terms).

I clicked on Trade In and selected my old 1st gen Fire stick. It gave me 20% off + additional $3 gift card for the device which applied to the purchase right away. And the 20% off is from the original price of $119.99 not the sale price $59.99. I have until mid August to send in my device to trade in.

Item(s) Subtotal:$119.99
Shipping & Handling:$0.00
Fire TV Trade-in:-$24.00
Lightning Deal:-$60.00
Total before tax:$35.99
Estimated tax to be collected:$3.19
Gift Card Amount:-$3.00
Grand Total:$36.18

Is your TV voice assistant compatible to be able to turn the TV on with your smart speaker (not the Cube)? Or is there some type of workaround/hack to be able to turn the TV on using your voice without having to get the Cube?

That's exactly what I have to trade in. I've been holding on to that until I had a reason to buy another Alexa device that had the trade in promo. I almost threw it away about a year ago since it had been sitting there and it was sooooo slow when I was using it up to a few years ago.

**EDIT** Did the trade in with my 1st gen Fire Stick and gave it to me instantly.

Even with my current Firestick 4K I have I have to constantly clear the cache and such because of all the garbage Amazon has been loading on there with the updates. Hopefully the cube will help with the additional storage space. If it continues to happen, then I may have to wait for a deal on the nvidia shield.

Why save the Discover deal for something else when this gives you the max $30 off? Also, don't forget to only use $1 worth of your Discover points so you can can save them for other things.
