About this deal:
Additionally, A-List members can add a $5 Cameo Combo (20oz fountain drink or ICEE & 53 oz. popcorn bag) to their ticket order.
Best to buy your tickets via Fandango to earn $5 credits. Currently you only need to buy 2 tickets to earn $5 VUDU credit or future movie ticket credit.
Update - Fandango's website doesn't seem to be offering the discount at the moment. Hopefully they'll get it fixed. Atom Tickets works.
A-List members can add a $5 Cameo Combo (20oz fountain drink or ICEE & 53 oz. popcorn bag) to their ticket order too.
Discount applies to full-price tickets for Tuesday showtimes only and varies by location. Surcharges for premium formats and special events. Exclusions apply. Visit AMCStubs.com/terms-and-conditions for applicable pricing by state and full program details.
Valid for a 20 oz. fountain drink or ICEE and 53 oz. popcorn bag at participating theatres, while supplies last. Not valid in full-service Dine-In auditoriums. Tax not included. Not valid with any other offer. Not eligible for AMC Stubs upgrades. No cash value. AMC associates are not eligible for this offer.
If you go to theater to purchase the ticket, you give them your amc stub membership number, even the free one, and it should drop the price to $5. No convenience fee on the theater purchase.
If you purchase their yearly premier stubs plan, it gets rid of the convenience fee online. It pays for itself after sometime so ymmv.
as a note, this used to be $5, then went up to $5.50 or $6.50 in a lot of markets, and stayed there, hence the "new lower price" of $5, which is presumably everywhere again, which is great! especially for those of us with a-list and want to bring other non-a-listers with us sometimes
Did you go through adding the ticket and trying to get to the checkout? Usually it shows full price until you hit the last page before payment and as long as your Stubs membership number is there it drops the price down to the promo price.

Fellas, how to avoid the Convenience Fee? If I go directly theatres to purchase, how to get $5 ticket? or $5 for online only?

This might be a huge YMMV for the $5 movies. I don't see any in my area today. Lol.

so, buy 2, $5 Tuesday tickets, and get $5 Vudu credit?
only from Fandango?

It doesn't have to be on Tuesday for the $5 VUDU credit offer. I was only mentioning it as a bonus. You are supposed to earn 250 VIP plus points for each ticket you buy. Normally you only earn 125 points for each ticket you buy, but they are running a limited time promo for double points. The VUDU or movie ticket code they give you will expire within 21 days, so make sure to use them quickly.
Fandango's website seems to be glitched right now, because it doesn't seem to be offering the Tuesday discount. Hopefully they can get it fixed. Atom Tickets seems to work. AMC's FAQ mentions it should work on Fandango. It has in the past. Likely Fandango just needs to fix their site.
