Does the motherboard need to be removed for storage upgrades as well? That would be a deal-breaker, as 16GB of RAM is more than sufficient.

Overall a smashing deal though

Yes, the motherboard has to be removed for upgrades. Here is a YouTube video that shows how to upgrade the 2022 version for reference since it's practically the same instructions. Obviously the 2022 version has DDR5 RAM instead of DDR4 but the upgrades are alike.

Based on reviews, I think you are correct. Seems to be 105w for 3070.

I might still choose legion 5pro 2021, compared to this model. Legion is more convenient to do maintenance and upgrade, also have better performance on graphics card. CPU is not a determinant factor for gaming nowadays

Anyone have thoughts on this deal vs. the Legion 5 Pro for same price at WalMart (https://slickdeals.net/f/15845695-lenovo-legion-5-pro-laptop-3070-1399?attrsrc=search%3Aterm%3ALegion+5+pro%7Csearch%3Apage%3A1%7Csearch%3Aposition%3A2%7Csearch%3Aresult_type%3Athread%7Csearch%3Aresult_id%3A15845695&src=SiteSearchV2Algo1). Full powered 3070 in the Legion 5 Pro makes it seem like a better deal to me, but looking for others' perspectives.

If you are not really in urgent need to buy a gaming or high performance laptop, I strongly suggest you to wait for the 40 series. Either 40 series will be much more powerful or 30 series will be on sale for a lower price. But this depends on your budget and your usage Smilie

Well recent news has the 40 series delayed until the 30 series stock gets lowered. So I wouldn't hold your breath with that coming any time soon.

If I see a deal though I'll pull the trigger. Or if the steam deck comes in first. Whichever happens.

40 series will require much more power. Which seems to be an issue already on 30 series laptops, correct? I'd go with a proven 30 series or wait even longer for a 40. Kinda like never buying the first year model of car.

Since you're the first comment, I'd just like to highlight that there is an extra gen4 slot available...
