4k on a 14" seems so unnecessary, just increases price and decreases battery life (maybe increases weight too??)

Completely worthless. The 2880x1800 90Hz is far superior for a 14".

AMD 6 series are good, but these are ultrabooks. Not for gaming. For that the integrated GPU is not bad. It has 96EU.

I just bought a yoga 9i and it is very noisy. I've never had a laptop that's so loud. Thinking about returning it but not sure about the eBay return policy for laptops.

Yeah I'm just disappointed in the heat issues with Intel mobile chips

Waiting for the next amd 7000 series. Igpu will be significantly better. Cpu will also have a fairly good boost. Not in a rush for a new lappy so don't mind waiting.

get i5. it is faster than the i7 version due to thermal throttling. it also doesn't heat up and the fan barely kicks in

Notebookcheck gives the 4k display a much better review than the 2.8k. The review says the 2.8k has has a slightly grainy looking display, higher power consumption, and PWM dimming for anything below 100%, while the 4k has lower power consumption and DC dimming above 50% brightness (PWM below 50%). I bought the 2.8k on the earlier ebay deal and found the grid-like pattern to be noticeable and annoying on light backgrounds, so I returned it. I bought this 4k one and I'm hoping it's better.

I picked up the 4K based on my original post. Found the display quality seems excellent, though I'm not an expert, and the battery life is as strong as reviews reported. I'm very happy with the purchase, overall. I wonder if you could share your thoughts once you've had the device in hand for a few days?

The 4k screen still does have the same kind of pattern as the 2.8k on light backgrounds, but with the 2.8k I was noticing the pattern in my normal typing posture while with the 4k I have to lean in a bit to see it. I'm very glad I switched to the 4k. Performance benchmarks well and battery life seems fine, slightly better than the 2.8k while just web browsing, although I haven't done any real testing on it. Standby battery loss is worse than I'm used to, coming from a macbook air. I wish the keycaps had a slight dish to them like my macbook or thinkpad from work, but I've typed a decent bit on it without problems.

One possible problem is the bios update from lenovo vantage failed to complete. I did complete a bios update on the 2.8k that I had, so I might have a faulty unit. Hoping that's not the case because this is my third lenovo in the past month.
