Cool, please post this on a website about "what products are worth" rather than this website, which is about "products that cost less than they normally do" - maybe someone at that other website will care about your opinion.

Great price on underrated planars. Make sure you have an amp that can drive them though.

Very good planars. I just wish they were lighter. Great price for what several consider a top 3 planar with EQ. They scale very well with EQ.

Dang, $500 is a great price for these (I paid $650-700 over 6 months ago and that was a good price then)

How do these compare to the "$900" 560v4? I didn't like the 560v4 and I returned them last week. Are these actually worth $1200 or are these being inflated like that last Hifiman deal? My only other pair of cans are Sony MDR-Z7m2 and I like them a lot. But I thought that a pair of planars would be a cool change. The 560v4 was severely lacking in a lot of areas. But at this price I would try HE6SE if I would see a big change from my Sony's. I use a Sony PHA-2A amp if that helps.

If you didn't like 560 I doubt you will like he6
These are supposedly even more sharp sounding

They're a good headphone for the price. Make sure you have a decent amp though. But yea... not really comparable to the original HE6.

The v2s of these aren't as harsh as the v1 and the 560. I had the 560s and they were indeed bright,. The he6se v1 sounded similar in treble and I had issues with sibilance.

When I replaced my v1 with these v2s the first thing I noticed was that the treble wasn't as harsh. They sound almost perfect to me, but can use an ever so slightly bass boost.

I had the HE6SE V2 for awhile and I thought they were great. I sold them after getting the Hifiman Edition XS, which I found to be better in almost every way except for bass impact levels. The XS is the same price too. I'd recommend getting the XS instead of this.

Thanks. That's what I was wondering earlier since the XS costs the same.

Both this pair and the 560 take EQ extremely well. They have relatively gentle frequency response curves and respond predictably to well-designed EQing. Neither of them puts out a particularly beautiful sound by default (particularly the 560, with its overly forward treble and anemic bass), but they can sound incredible with a little careful tweaking. Just make sure you have an amp that can supply the minimum power requirements for your preferred listening volume (at least 250-500mw for the 560, more like 750-1300mw for the extremely thirsty HE6).
