  • About this Offer:
    • Few museums are a member of all three associations, so discounted membership at The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is a great deal for access to a wide variety of museums nationwide.
    • Most museums will not accept associate admission if they are located near your home residence. This deal is good for those on road trips and those who travel often.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I have used the NARM benefit with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Membership. I can answer a few questions.

- You will get your membership in the mail but many now have digital memberships. You can use either for the NARM Benefit.
- In my experience, every museum I've gone to didn't check I had a membership to the original museum. I just mentioned I wanted to use my NARM benefit.
- Many museums with NARM benefits will have a special "$0" price tag when buying tickets online or a promo code you use for NARM tickets. I successfully bought the tickets and no one checked for eligibility at the door so it was seamless.
- For NARM, the stipulation I've seen is the # of free tickets is usually equal to the package you bought at the original museum. If you bought a solo membership, 1 free ticket. Family membership, 2 free tickets.
- OP mentions there are no blackouts in the Cleveland area. The botanical gardens are fantastic in Cleveland and is on the black out list.
- NARM membership list is here: https://narmassociation.org/members/

Edit: I forgot to mention this, but keep in mind a number of museums on all the lists always have free entry. I find it a bit dishonest that the list gets bloated by free museums.
Astc website says, "Make sure the science center or museum you are visiting is not located within 90 miles of either your home residence or the science center or museum that you belong to."
check the ROAM, NARM, and ASTC links above for participating museums.

Does this museum send out physical cards in the mail? Or can we use the ATSC/NARM with just a digital member card?

My family has a membership to this museum and we just got the notice about how all memberships were upgraded to this one in the mail. You can pay for a hard copy card, but there is a digital version using the emembership app. That said, since they announced this change, their card page just says "coming soon". We had downloaded our old membership cards but have not been able to get in to get the new "pack" version. It's been like that all week so not sure when it might be updated.

When does the 50% off deal expire?
Is there also an expiration date printed on the card?

I don't know when it expires, I stumbled onto the discount today by accident while cleaning out some bookmarks.

The cards (digital and physical) show the expiration date.

Are we able to cancel the auto-renewal after purchase? I am interested in purchasing, but don't want to commit to next year at the full price.

My local science center is ~80 miles away and they want +$100 for a family membership and have a 90 mile exclusion. This deal is about the cost for our family to go with discount tickets. If I could actually use where I would want to it this would have been a no brainer purchase.

Visiting The Franklin Institute once would definitely pay for it. I live in Philly though so no go for me. Have to check the "radial distance" for my sister. She is about 110 miles away by car but likely will fall into the 90 mile circle.
Philly is over 400 miles away from Cleveland. Don't they check the museum listed on the membership and not your actual address? Or am I getting this all wrong?

The museum you are visiting will check your home address to make sure it isnt within xx miles of them (so the person you quoted lives in philly and The Franklin institute is in philly as well, so not eligible)

Some on the ATSC list "Proof of Residence Required" - does that mean they check to make sure you live 90 mi away from the home museum?
No, that means that if you are a family of 4, all 4 need to be living at the same residence. Obviously, they don't ask for children's IDs, but if you have 2 adults on the card they need to have IDs with the same address

I have been buying the family membership ($25) at Carnegie Museum for years and use it in FL all the time. When relatives come to visit, I buy them a family membership as a gift ($25). It is sad that local museums charge 5 times as much and drive ppl away to purchase a membership elsewhere.
That's only for people receiving verifiable public benefits like SNAP, etc.

None of the really major museums in NYC (Met, MoMA, Natural History, Whitney) are covered, sadly.

Always look at your local zoo, museum, aquarium or garden for membership benefits.
My local zoo is free but gives $75+ worth benefit for membership. That membership can be used to get 50%-100% discounts at other zoos/aquariums. The membership pays for itself and all the extra savings are additional for traveling.

Does this renew at $75 or back to $150 next year?

I was paying $125/yr for a regional art museum just to go to my local museums that charged more for the same level of family membership. $75 is a nice deal with the added benefit of ATSC. Normally I would support my local/regional/state museums but $75 is hard to pass. Thanks OP.
