I do think that it's important to note that, according to the landing page, saying, "Alexa, order an Echo Dot with clock" will order you the Glacier White one. And, of course, specifying, "Alexa, order a Twilight Blue Echo Dot with Clock" will order you the Twilight Blue one. So be sure to use the proper voice command for which one you want!

I don't know why you are comparing these two products. They are completely different products. The echo show 5 has a colored touch screen and a camera on it.

This here. Fantastic upgrade to the old school digital bed-side clocks.

The Echo Show wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't constantly showing ads and other useless shit.

I'm putting these in all of our bedrooms. Asking for a time check from Alexa in the middle of the night is disruptive to other household members and my spouse. Also 50+/- years of looking at a bedside table for the time is a hard habit to break. I'll also place one of these on our entertainment center to replace the old clock radio I currently use for the time, pressed in to service when the old cable STBs with built in clocks were replaced by HTPCs and later streaming devices.

I could offer a screenshot, but the iOS app is not giving me an option to attach one.

See if you can get that icon I mentioned to appear on another page and try from that instead of the mic in the search bar.

The clock is a nice touch but I think the Echo Dot 3 with free smart bulb for $19.99 is a much better deal.

Sound quality aside, the Dot is less of a distraction for kids than the Echo Show. Kids goto town on the Show even the tiny 5" screen. Restrict time on their tablets? No problem they just fixate on the Show for hours laugh out loud

The screens on the Echo take more horsepower to update and are generally slower at responding than audio-only. Different use cases, different priorities.

I have this sitting on my nightstand in my bedroom and I really like it. Can dim the display so it's not annoying bright, the sound is fine for how I use it. Won't blast music but that's not what it's intended for, it sounds fine at low levels.

I'm pretty sure they clicked on the link rather than clicking the icon and saying the phrase. So they didn't do just as I said. There's no way to have that outcome following my directions exactly… oh, well! I tried.

Echo Show 5 will display the time, too, and you can do a lot more with it, as previously noted, for virtually the same price. I have one on my nightstand and I don't find it annoying at all.
