Roborock has the lowest price ever on the new Q5 and Q5+, plus a few other models, on sale through July 16:
The Q5 replaces the S4 Max and is arguably the best robot vac right now or those who don't need or want mopping. It's
$309.99 with free Prime shipping [amazon.com] (just clip the coupon).
The Q5+ adds a self-emptying dock to the Q5 for
$489.99 with free Prime shipping [amazon.com] (just clip the coupon). Many people here love self-emptying docks so don't @ me but I don't get it. The pitch is that you can ignore it for two months at a time, but the docks are big and noisy, they cost an extra $180, you still have to empty them, and to me, these are mechanical devices that should be looked at more often than that to make sure things aren't tangled or stuck in the rollers or brushes.
The E5 is a fantastic deal at
$179.99 with free Prime shipping [amazon.com] after coupon. This simple model offers outstanding and efficient cleaning but doesn't have LiDAR navigation. So no room mapping. No invisible walls. No "no go" zones. No room scheduling. But if you have, say, a simple single level apartment and you just want it to vacuum the whole place on a regular schedule, this would do a great job without the bells and whistles.
If you think you want mopping, there are
other deals on some of those models [amazon.com], but not for the latest vibrating S7 and Q7 vacuums.

Yes the E5 has a huge dustbin but it's a simple device that does your whole home every time it vacuums. There are far fewer working parts.
The Q5 can clean individual rooms on a schedule. Its dustbin is actually slightly bigger than the dustbin on the S4Max (which it replaces) and the S5 Max and S6 Pure (which it should be compared to).
Of the Robovacs, there aren't that many other companies to chose from. I homed in on Shark, iRobot/Romba and iHome. All three are well received for their price range.
My favorite is the Shark IQ, because the emptying base doesn't use any bags and is HEPA. That means, in the long run you save on having to buy vacuum bags needlessly.

From my research comparing Dreame to Roborock, aside from maturing needed in the hardware/software, Roborock S7's has sonic mop (agitation) vs Drag.
On top of that, also read it's generally easier to find third party parts made to fit the Roborock.

If you don't have that (for example, I have all wood and tile and no pets), then I think it's a different equation. I've found things like hair bands, rubber bands, string, plastic, etc. caught under my vacuum, no doubt hurting vacuum performance and increasing wear and tear, and I would not want it to run that way for two months without my checking.
That said, I just bought the Shark IQ with cleaning base and LIDAR for $299. Now an American company can steal my data and spy on me. ðŸ˜
