Got it. Any suggestions on what a more appropriate ultrawide with the same resolution might be?
Oh. My point was that the resolution is overkill for the use. If you want that resolution for that use, then this may be the right deal.

Great for productivity, but I still prefer 16:9 for games I play. I could see 21:9 being popular for SIM style games, like racing or flight sim.

those who went from two FHD to one of these, how does it feel losing roughly 500 horizontal pixels?

No way! This resolution is kick-ass for office use! Excel and dual browsers are great on these monitors' resolutions.

it's 1440p so you don't need hdmi 2.1
and it's a 21:9 gaming monitor for PC, use DP instead

Does anyone have any thoughts on how this LG compares to this:
34" Acer 144Hz UWQHD Curved Gaming Monitor
I have one of these but it met with an unfortunate accident while I was transporting it and now has about 10% of the screen is dead in the middle. I really like it and this looks like a 1:1 replacement.

I just bought the 35"from Best Buy with usb-c for my MacBook.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-u...Id=6508969

Would this 34" one be better with a hdmi adapter?

It'd be cheaper. HDMI on this 34" deal will only support up to 85Hz at the native resolution. USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 or 4 IIRC for Macs are DP native so you'd get the full native resolution and full 100Hz (the 35"'s monitor's max) from USB-C. That said, you can get USB-C to DisplayPort to get the full bandwidth needed for the 160Hz.

FWIW I have that 35" model from Costco that's not USB-C. I run two dongles, one with HDMI for 3440x1440 85Hz, and another HDMI running 4K 60Hz off my 2019 Intel based 16" MBP. I use the DP input for my Windows PC since that's where I'd be gaming and wanting the 100Hz.

I'm debating on this but I'd rather support Costco and I don't really feel like the hassle of returning and all that for higher Hz gain that won't matter to me right now since I'm still running on a 980 Ti and don't play a lot of PC FPS games right now.
