Gen2 has higher resolution camera with some degree of autotracking, privacy switch, adaptive color temperature, but no 3.5mm audio output. Basically, it is mainly with improved camera for video call.

anyway to get instant credit? I have active prime membership and I am getting only option to send the device first and i never traded any device to Amazon till now. any pointers from any one experienced please. TIA

No go for me either, chat says trade in not eligible, even though I went through the process with the trade-in link and got an instant $20 gift card for echo show 5 1st gen.

Did the people not getting the 25% automatic discount trade-in a device recently? I did one last week for echo show 8 1st gen.

Is the limit on the number of times the 25% device trade-in offer can be used?

I think the trade in discount is one type of device per customer (e.g. one FireTV, one Echo of any kind, one Kindle etc.)

The 25% trade in is only for 1 time use per account. This is why you guys are not seeing it on checkout, you probably used it for another device purchase.

Even though I was able to use the 25% discount with trade in twice, once for each adult on my Prime account (this was for the Echo 5 with Blink camera) with trading in an Echo Dot 3rd gen each - instant trade-in credit and discount. Btw, customer service confirmed that if you don't send in the trade-in device, they will just charge you for its value ($5 each in my case).
