Is this the "new normal" for a good price on this? There was a deal $22 cheaper in Feb, but inflation, supply chain, yadda yadda, and something in that thread about "contamination?"

This seems to be the EVO and your looking at the QVO. Go down the list on the link your sent and it was at 179.99...

why buy these when nvme ssd are available with speeds up to 7000 mb/s vs this at 560 mb/s...
Because not everyone have nvme or maybe run out of available slots. Should they spend $1k to upgrade their motherboard to the latest that have 4 slots and create more ewaste?

Already had this in my cart the last couple of days and have been waiting to see if the price dropped on Prime day. I think this is as good as it gets.

I also could have purchased a 1TB, but at $115 it didn't make any sense when you double your space for $55 more (2TB is $85/TB vs $115/TB) and I'll be less worried about clearing data off...

Pulled the trigger.

I have a 2TB 850 pro. Would this be significantly better or not?

Ouch! Sounds kind of small for 2TB today.....Fill that up with a basic move/copy....laugh out loud

Oh well, that's double what the old 1TB 850 Evo had (I have 3x of them) so it will work.

This *may* have more cache, but is it significantly better? Hard to say as i don't know what you have now.

Cache helps with moves/copies, etc., but once the cache fills up you're only writing at the speed of the nand/controller. if I had a 2tb pro, I would ride it out but it's up to you.

These EVOs are quite nice. I got myself spare 1TB on standby for "emergency" situations
