I have this laptop, I got it for $700 on sale at costco at the start of this year, the diff is that costco comes w/ a longer free warranty, not a bad laptop but it has a few flaws in regards to charging and power. Performance is limited based on power. When not plugged in even on full performance mode maxed out CPU you will get dips if gaming, or running a lot of applications. When plugged in I can game on Overwatch medium 60 but if the battery is charging and its less than like 80% it will have lag and dips.

Another issue is that the Wifi card that comes with it is a low performing realtek card. you can buy a cheap ax200 intel card to swap it but i'm not sure if theres any risk to breaking the warranty because the screws are located within the rubber strips glued onto the base.

Otherwise its a fine machine for what it is, tackpad is decent as well and modestly sturdy for what it is~

I'd take this Zen 3 chip over the 12th gen Intel any day of the week. I tried that $500 Asus OLED laptop and the thermals were out of control. Just insanely hot and uncomfortable to use in QOL.

Tempting. I just ordered the 5625U version with 1600p screen for $580. Now gotta consider trading the higher res screen and $70 for the upgrade to 5825U.

Is this laptop good for just watching movies/shows? I don play games just watch Netflix etc connect to my TV. My old desktop started acting weird now.

For video decoding more threads is always better and AMD Zen destroys Intel on that front both in terms of performance and efficiency.
