I know my older ones (800watts) are Zigbee, and I could use them on the hue bridge V2.1, or like I've done now is add them to my Home Assistant hub using Zigbee.
So will these still work with a Zigbee hub, like my older hue bridge V2.1?
I purchased the Govee Smartbulbs (4 Pack) for ~$40 and haven't had any issues with them.
They sync to my google home too and also only 9watts so is there a reason why these are better?
- hue are ZigBee, ZigBee and z-wave are generally considered superior to wifi or Bluetooth.
- hue have pretty good color for a smart bulb. There are plenty of better non-smart bulbs, but hue is at least in the top range for smart bulbs.
- people say that hue are more reliable than other brands. It largely defeats the purpose of smart bulbs if they aren't reliable.
- I believe hue has state memory. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but basically if the bulb is off and you lose and regain power, the bulb stays off until you turn it on (because it remembers it was off before losing power). Some other bulbs turn off in this case. Can be a pain if you lose and regain power in the middle of the night and all of a sudden all your lights turn on.
There may be other things, but generally speaking Hue are considered the best all around. I really wish I knew of an equivalent ZigBee or z-wave bulb that cost less, because hue can get pretty expensive.

Trust, you're not ready for the "poor people" insults that are coming your way. Don't come into Hue threads with this garbage.
