i prefer the Switchbot Plug Minis which can regularly be found for $3/plug and run Tasmota excellently for easy power monitoring without relying on a third party cloud for software updates.

Bought. One but is the energy monitoring worth it? You can only use these for small things like lamps which typically draw a negligible amount of energy. It's not like you can use this for a fridge or AC.
