The only way to really get a lower price with priceline is when they run a coupon like this...basically this covers their "fees".

FYI - I was looking to book a room.... and it was pretty simple to figure out which unnamed hotel was the "express deal". But the priceline savings were almost nothing on the payment page... because if I booked the "express deal", the priceline fees were double what they were if I simply booked the Hyatt with priceline. Crazy.

So now, I only use priceline when they have a coupon like this.
