The milk frothing system for the lattego is unrivaled imo. You fill the carafe with milk then connect it. When you are done, you wipe the pour spout and put the leftover milk filled carafe into the refrigerator for later. Other counter systems require cleaning or purging.

It's easily one of the best features for the uninitiated or lazy like myself.

Also has a quick clean feature for the lattego milk container. 3000 series doesn't have it

Funny enough just checked FB and someone listed a silvia and rocky grinder, supposedly barely used and was in storage, for $650 together. Wonder how old they are and if worth the price/risk vs buing new.
If the Rancilio Silvia's complete with stock portafilter with single and double non-pressurized baskets, I'd say that's a great choice, given your espresso goals and what not, with your willingness to learn more about espresso.

For what it's worth, I bought my Rancilio Silvia Used and my Baratza Sette 30 with stepless dial refurbed. I'd say I've gone through ~20+ lb of beans so far with no issues. Worth the risk, IMO.

All 3 are decent machines. The major differences that separate the Gaggia Classic and Rancilio Silvia is it's build quality, modular capabilities to self-service and upgrade if you dive deep into the hobby. Think like upgrade parts in a car to target say, a little HP or another issue you're trying to address.

In the espresso world, upgrades that will allow you more control and/or precision on the espresso brewing process: shower screens to allow for more evenly distributed water to your coffee bed, precision baskets to allow for optimal even coffee extraction, PID for temperature control, portafilters in general, etc.

The biggest factor is having a grinder that's capable of grinding fine enough to allow proper espresso extraction to venture into non-pressurized (single wall) baskets. You'll run into features such as retention, clumping, stepless (allow very, very small adjustments to grind fineness), etc. If you do want to venture into the semi-auto world the right way (with a grinder that allows for espresso quality grinds), you'd expect another $300 at a minimum new to start. Baratza's Sette 30 is a good start at $300, but even better to add a stepless dial for another $100.

Someone else will have to chime in on other grinder options, such as manual hand grinders which may be a cheaper starting point, but can't speak on that realm personally.
This right here. While the Breville does PID out of the box, parts are hard to find and upgrades are difficult because everything on it (e.g. portafilter) is non-standard. I have the 870XL and repairs are all hacks since parts are ridiculous priced if you can even find them.

Has TCB actually registered anyone's purchase? I bought this on Friday afternoon and followed every step suggested on their site. I got a confirmation that the click registered, but the purchase is still not showing up. I know a lot of others have mentioned having the same issue, just curious if it's actually worked successfully for anyone?
No, and they very likely won't.
Lots of complaints on sitejabber (and similar but not as many on TrustPilot) on how they don't pay on larger purchases. What will happen is they will deny the claim because you used an "unauthrorized coupon" or some other excuse.

What types of beans can I use on this machine? Also in the scooper can I add any type of beans even if oily if it's grinded?

Got my 3200 on prime day. So far so good, after setting the temperature to high and adjusted the grinder setting. Wish it comes with more recipes tho at least just foam milk. My kids like the milk foam. I would have to make a latte, give them the milk foam and I will take the shots. I think I need to upgrade to 4000 or 5000 series before I caffeine OD.

Any non-oily beans.
Yes, you can add whatever to the pre-ground hopper. Quality of coffee will be affected. I used it with my Breville grinder to get an espresso drink, any espresso pre-ground will be good. Maxwell House not so much Smilie

A few people mentioned this on this thread, but I just got the 3200 on prime day. Are there any differences between that and the 4300 besides a screen and more brew options? Like does it brew a better cup or is this machine better quality?

No difference in the brew. Philips, Gaggia, Saeco all have the same "brew group". It's just features they add on the higher models.

Quality of the drinks they produce does not differ - only the screen along with some more selections of drink types (nothing major). Purely quality of shot pulled though, you're getting the same - I wouldn't fret the difference at all.

I have a Barista Touch (have to grind, tamp, etc.), and JUST got the Philips 3200 from Prime Day for $420 to compare.

For my wife and I, the Barista was too much. It was hard to get shots dialed in consistently, and a lot to clean each time. Awesome machine though, and if you want the experience of learning to tamp, adjust grind size, "dialing it in", etc., it's great.

But we stopped using it because it was too much work, especially before you have your coffee in the morning (Catch 22, I know). I've only tried the 3200 out yesterday and today, but the few shots I've pulled tasted good, and it is very easy to use. I still miss the controls and customizability of the Barista Touch, but at the end of the day the goal is just a good cup of coffee, and this does it with ease.

We've been using a Nespresso for years, tried to replace it with the Touch, but went back to it (for the good of the marriage). I'm hoping the 3200 will be our way to get out from under Nestle's incredibly talented (but evil in many ways) coffee-making thumb. And, if I did the math right, save a few bucks, too.

Oh, and I can't speak to the LatteGo attachment, but in my experience, the whisk-spinner frother from Nespresso works better than the two actual steam wands I've tried. And easier to maintain. But obviously I'm not a true latte aficionado, so YMMV.

2-5 days. You should get it inside of a week.

Nope, nothing on TCP for me, either. I will wait a week and then I will be submitting a ticket.

According to Seattle Coffee Gear, there is a work around for the 3200 to get the milk foam.

I ended up using the B_ Frugal site bc of the reported issues on TCB. Only 5% back, but the purchase did register on the site.
