Good deal! Just FYI: the Blu-Ray set of Friends has the original broadcast versions of episodes, which often have scenes missing compared to streaming/DVD versions.

Better video and audio quality. You actually own the content. You can rip blu-rays and create your own streaming ecosystem using Plex or Emby. I don't get why someone would want to buy a locked digital copy over physical media unless the price is significantly lower.

The reason is convenience. It is ready to stream after the purchase is made. There is no need to rip 21 blurays that will take hours of babysitting (switching dics and editing out commercials and previews). I could be snarky and say some people have a lot of times on their hands to rip discs... And there is no ewaste. Imagine having lots of complete TV season to rip, my library for example. I don't have the patience. I think TV series is made for digital (either direct streaming or digital ownership) vs movies which is just a disc or two to rip and fast.

I would generally agree with this stance with regard to most TV series, especially a sitcom like this. However, streaming is very compressed and will never deliver the same visual/audio fidelity. If you have a crappy TV and you sit 10 ft away, then maybe you will never see the difference. But for guys with high-quality TVs or home theater setups, physical media is a must. Until they completely remove the compression on streaming, there will be a market for physical media.

I do agree with that, but I wish most of the digital copies weren't locked within a specific streaming service even if it's something you purchased. Having multiple different services with content spread across them is annoying. Of course, you could just stick with one service, like say Amazon Prime, but you're likely to overpay by doing so. I bought The Office on Vudu when there was a super cheap deal for it a while ago, but I almost never even bother watching it on there because I rarely use VUDU for anything else. I've heard of Movies Anywhere, but I don't think that works with TV series.

With TV series, I stick to one single service, iTunes in my case, as they don't transfer between different services like you mentioned. When the pandemic started and we were on lockdown, iTunes went on an unbelievable streak of TV show deals. Many went on sale for no more than $30. That was when I bought a bunch of shows. Friends, Office, Veep, and to the recent ones like Start Trek series. I shudder to think the amount of work it would go into ripping them.
