    AFAIK from browsing online & the forums, the hub is proprietary which is annoying since all the devices do is talk over bluetooth. The integration is smarthings cloud -to- switchbot cloud connector so gotta have the hub Frown

    yeah... home assistant has an integration that works without the hub and only requires your HA to have bluetooth. i dont believe the integration is official, and reading the github open issues it has problems with new firmware updates for switchbot devices and such... so probably not a great/seamless solution after all.

    i began migrating off of smartthings during the dns outage a few weeks back. there's a learning curve, but so far it's been worth it.
