Decent find. These shouldn't be $399 to begin with, and this is more inline with a lot of the prices I've seen for brand new XM4's. Considering they haven't been out very long, I'm not terribly concerned about what I'd be getting from a "refurbished" pair of XM5's.

I found the noise canceling on these horrible compared to my XM3 and XM4 as the adaptive NC can not be turned off. NC would cut out if you turn your head or swallow. Luckily I was able to sell mine for more than a paid for them.
I would suggest reading some in depth reviews on these before purchasing.

Oh that will be a deal breaker. I'm really interested to swap my XM3 for these. Can anyone comment on NC on these headphones?

I unfortunately sold my XM3's before receiving the XM5's. Had to go back and buy a pair on ebay....I would not recommend and if you purchase just make sure you can return them is all I can say.

Then I would hold on to my xm3's. I miss connectivity to multiple devices and some new features but ANC is more important to me compared to other features. Also carrying case is bigger now!!!

The Biggest Drawback of the XM5's to me is the missing NFC pairing option. Once you have it with the XM3's or XM4's, I can never go back. Just tap the phone to the left ear and boom, you're connected, even if the bluetooth is turned off on the phone. Works like charm every time.

i have to assume that most of these are just returns and that the headphones were used for less than a month. i really hope that there are no scratches or any kind of damage and that i can just wipe the thing and can't tell the difference between used and new.

FYI these do not fold the same way as the xm4s. The case takes up way more space in a bag

I have these and haven't had any problems with noise cancelling. A lot of settings are adjustable in the Sony headphones app. You can cycle between active noise cancelling, audio passthrough, and just regular headphones mode with one button. Overall I think they are very slightly better than the xm4's in every single area audio-wise. But you do lose NFC pairing and foldability. But great headphones.
