How about this vs Acerยฎ Nitro VG281K bmiipx 28" 4k UHD LED Gaming Monitor, FreeSync with built-in speaker (2x2W) for $170 before OOS (it was out of stock 2 days ago and back in stock early today so could come back in stock later)

For connecting to laptop to do coding and/or office work and web browser (include browser game), play video, etc? Assuming there is no external speaker so currently using laptop speaker.

The 4k monitor is probably better for you if you code. you dont need the high refresh rate, which is for gaming.

Question though , regarding refresh rates, is this one better even though it's lower due to the higher resolution?

I would trade off the higher 240hz for higher resolution at half the refresh rate. If you're a hardcore MUST WIN fps player, then the 240hz would be recommended. if your'e using it all around for multiple AAA games and some e-sports games and watching movies, editing photos/vidoes, then this HP 1440p monitor is better.

IPS monitors always have some slight lightbleed. if you're on the fence and need a perfect ips without light bleed, then you're not after deals. you can't beat an IPS 165hz 27" 1440p $175 price anywhere. it's like you're asking if there is the issue of space on a $100,000 Lamborghini vs another typical $200,000 sports car of the same specs.
no, didn't say looking for perfect monitor, more interested in productivity with text clarity and sharpness

Got two - my other dormant Amazon account was able to buy one with 5.99 shipping and was able to use the 12.50 for the other one

Just checked, not oos on the main page. It will show oos in cart if you already bought one. Maybe oos in cart even if you didn't buy one? Not sure since I got one.

May be dependent on your shipping location. Still available for me (at least right now)

Edit: I see others mention OOS shows when in cart. Happy to have snagged one. Assuming this also qualifies for the 6% CB using the Amazon visa.

I use the monitor for work during the day at home, so I have no issues with text. I haven't checked if this is a BGR monitor like the Gigabyte (same panel from the same factory), but I definitely don't have issues with text and sharpness. Just buy one think later, if you don't like the clarity and text, you can always return to amazon easily.

Great deal. Sold put quick last time. If I didn't go for the 31.5" from Office Max's deal yesterday l, would have gone for this.

Great monitor. Bright and sharp. They consistently have a backlight bleed from the left bottom or left top edge but not terrible.
