Pretty recent thread talks about this to death. I posted a bulleted list that summarizes other prior deals, however, I dont think the thread actually says what this DOES, lol.
Thatch is a layer of dead grass which in reasonable quantities keeps lawn moist and lessens diseases. However, too much, and new grass cant grow out. Think of new grass like ingrown hairs which cant poke through the thatch (skin).
Most of the YT videos which promote using these use them as part of a winterizing regimen (overseeding, aerating, fertilizing inc.) The machine is wired and large properties will take some time.
I love mine (but Im not totally in love with Sun Joe QC...)

Was about to place another order to see if I can get CB from SD or Honey and cancel the initial one and glad I didnt.

I secretly think this "deal" is actually a scam to increase their sale in cord akin to the printer inkjet business. But there doesn't seem to be a real connection between Sun Joe and any of the cord suppliers, so I'm going to put that thought at the bottom of my pile.
Thanks for the deal post!

There are regularly deals on the yellow 12 gauge 50 foot ext cords for like $25. And they can be used for much more than just this.

Most dont need to dethath every year as the mulched grass clippings will continue to breakdown. Every 2-3 years is more than enough for most. Its best to combine dethathing with core aeration and overseeding in that same cycle in the fall to get the best results.
