I bought this last week and it is on its way back. Shoes extend beyond the stand because the mesh area is not long enough. If you put it such that the back part is facing a wall, it is very inconvenient to access the shoes on that side. Just my 2 cents.

Oof, I thought this was metal mesh at first. Nope, it's a cloth/nylon mesh. Worst design ever.

What's funny is they list several times boasting it's "breathable". Why? Why!?? Sure glad the bottom of my shoes can....breathe...

MESH lining? why not go full metal construction with a few bars going across. Oh I know, to save cost and deliver a product that fails when it gets a single rip.

I read the reviews prior to posting the thread and reviews seem to indicate this is sturdy. Most of the negative reviews are about this not being able to hold 30 pairs of shoes as claimed. Also, Target has a good 365-day return policy if it ends up being defective in the future.

Cubbies are better. Mesh will let whatever stray grit and schmutz in the shoes to fall on other shoes and the floor.

Was it a fabric mesh or like a plastic/nylon type? Just curious. If plastic variety, at least it would be a bit more cleanable.

I got it recently too and am keeping mine. The mesh area seems to fit up to US women's shoe size 6.5 (about 37 EU), so it isn't bad for smaller shoe sizes.

I bought it at the start of the sale and would've liked a metal mesh more, but, imo, it isn't bad.
It holds about 15 pairs of shoes on each side for me (3 pairs of US women's shoe size 6-6.5 on each shelf), so I'm able to fit 30 pairs on it. My shoes fit well without sticking out much past each shelf (about 1.5 inches past the mesh if it does at all).
If you wear a larger shoe size, you probably won't be able to fit as many pairs and your shoes will probably extend more beyond each shelf.
I lined each shelf with plastic shelf/drawer liner to prevent dirt from the bottoms of shoes falling onto other shoes/the floor and to make cleanup easier.

tl;dr: It can fit about 30 pairs of US women's 6-6.5 shoes. Lining the shelves with something (plastic shelf liner, cardboard, etc.) will make it easier to clean and prevent dirt from transferring onto other shoes/the floor.

Thank you for your feedback and helpful tips. I've yet to set mine up but good to know you like yours
