Looks like good specs, unsure about the claimed price slash. Where's the display snobs especially though?

Same 17" display and 12GB/1TB (horrendously slow) HDD, but the HP deal is better one with backlit keyboard, nearly 2 years newer 11th Gen i5 and 1080p FHD resolution. Though that's a refurbished with 2 years warranty…
HP Laptop (Refurb): i5-1155G7, 17.3" FHD IPS, 12GB RAM, 1TB HDD + 2-Yr Warranty $350

SIMILARLY, adding a NVME SSD is almost the first thing you need to do with this ASUS machine.

EDIT: this ASUS likely comes with a 200nits TN...Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

10th generation i5, 1600 x 900 resolution, and a mechanical hard drive. It's a pass for me! If it at least had 1080 resolution, you could consider adding a SSD and making due with the processor, but the display kind of kills it.

I got this HP deal and returning it...boot up is really slow. Over 2 mins to get to the log in screen and another 2 for windows to be ready to use.

I chose open box excellent for $280. For me this is a nice laptop for home use. 17.3" display, 1tb hdd, and about 4.5 to 5# is not for lugging around.
