This is crazy. Still waiting to replace my 1TB NVMe SSD I bought four years ago for $69. Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron stop colluding to milk the consumer at 1-2TB kkthx. We are ready to be cheated at 8-128TB.

Digitimes: Samsung new NAND flash capacity coming online in 2H21 may worsen price falls.

Everyone has been brainwashed to eat these high prices because xyz reasons. It's easier and cheaper to print ssd NAND memory than make a hard drive yet you don't see those staying stationary at 1-2TB for the past 4 years.

It's ridiculously easy on Android. You just need the right apps.

Look into setting up rsync or just use something like SanDisk Memory Share.

If your router can host a network share, you might not even need to use OTG. You could have it wirelessly sync your new pictures whenever you're at home.

The Samsung store has this drive for $97 with EPP discount. Of course if you have the Amazon credit card you get 5% back. I had some Samsung point that reduced the $97 price by $50

Are you being sarcastic or is there a credible rumor of a pending release?

They are stupid fast. When connected to a USB C 3.2 connection I was getting over 1,000 MB/s which is what they advertise. On a regular USB 3.0 connection it's about half that, but that is still way faster than a USB thumb drive. I tested a 128GB one I bought recently that was marketed as being fast and it got 30MB/s
I am using one as a work drive. I would expect them to be as reliable as an internal m.2 drive, but who knows. Only time will tell.

Anyone know if this would work for backing up pictures/video from a Pixel 5a5g via OTG? Don't want to use stuff like Dropbox or Google Photos... Have tried doing research on how to do this stuff but it unfortunately doesn't seem easy on Android

I did that one time with a samsung and my sd card got corrupted. I wouldn't take that chance. Lost of a lot of great photos.

Openmtp via cable
Or
Syncthing or resilio sync via wireless.

A computer on the other end is required. Haven't used any otg things since the others are so easy and the wireless ones can basically backup in real time.
