It is connected with a small piece of plastic, the rest of the truck is quite heavy and durable.
So if your kid drops it on the floor a lot, I think the overall weight of the truck will break the bed connector after a few drops..

Yeah not like when I was a kid and Tonka stuff was all metal and completely indestructible. Now it is Chinese made plastic garbage.
