it really feels like they could have added a bottom shelf for a little more storage, like this one (there's other colors some cheaper esp if you buy 2 packs). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DMBU...0cnVl&th=1

I doubt it. The description says engineered wood so it's not real wood. You'd probably have to prime it before painting.

I do have a bookshelf from Sauder and it's nice and durable except it has the lame cardboard back you nail in. Needed an end table under 16" and this fits the bill plus I used the $12.50 promo certificate from the Prime day $50 GC purchase for this plus $1.64 out of pocket.

I agree that it wouldn't have killed them to include a bottom shelf. I bought a different end table for $20 a couple weeks back from the same manufacturer and it was definitely worth an extra five odd dollars for the bottom shelf. The original $60 pricetag seems a bit steep but for $20 it was a good deal for a sturdy little table. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Curiod.../601912686

bought that two years ago. LOVE IT, in fact love all of Furinno furniture. it's SO easy to put together and looks halfway decent and it's alway so so affordable.
