I have this monitor, feel free to ask any questions.

I'm not a fan of this, the stand is literally static and doesn't move in any way. Panel is nice. But there's literally only one button for everything.

If you are using Windows 10 still (like me), you can download PowerToys and use FancyZones to split the screeen in anyway you like.

Dual monitors, I have used before. It's not exactly the same experience because this is only 29 inch which makes it like 1.5 monitors.

I think what you are asking for is the features in the OSD menu. I honestly hate this LG series OSD. It provides nothing, buttons are annoying, and I really don't even bother with it. I think the features you are interested is called PictureInPicture and also SplitWindows / whatever. This monitor doesn't have those fancy features.

But I am using Windows 11 and this works perfectly. Spreadsheets actually show you to the full length of the monitor and makes it easier to fullscreen and see everything. Windows 11's built in window management is good enough.

So these are for when you want a 1440p monitor but just don't want those extra 360 pixels tall?

Have you used dual monitors before and how does this compare? A few Q&A on amazon said it doesn't come with software for functionality. Looks like Windows 11 has support built in for wide monitors. I like the width when working with spreadsheets. Thanks!

This is really 1080p, with some extra pixels on the "side" than 1440p.

Isn't that just the same thing… with extra steps?

Pretty sure that comment was a joke/reference.

Plus the argument that its actually 1080p with extra pixels on the side versus QHD (2560x1440) with less vertical pixels is...silly. Its both, since it is 2560 pixels wide (so is QHD with fewer vertical pixels) but also is just 1080 pixels tall, so 1080p "with extra side pixels".

For those looking for USB-C, I ended up purchasing the LG 29WP60G-B, which is $177 on Amazon. It does not provide power delivery.

I got one of these monitors about a year ago, and it has been working well for me. I like having the option of being able to view, for example, lots of columns of a spreadsheet without the seam I'd get with a separate monitor.

I might've gotten the larger version, but that one wouldn't fit, given my desk with a hutch. This one fit fine.

If it was a joke, I'll leave it here Smilie

If not, then here's my observation on why it matters (I had this monitor for sometime but gave it away). The width of the monitor is what is unusual compared to regular widescreen. On the height side, it's only 1080p. Pixel density looks quite bad. I came from a 2560x1440p and I couldn't get adjusted to this resolution of "stretched 1080p". I'm sure this is subjective and may not look bad to somebody else's eyes.

I have almost exactly the same monitor from LG. It's effectively a 24" 1080p monitor with more pixels on the sides. If you like that, it's fine.

I bought mine for $200 about 3 years ago so this isn't exactly a screaming deal. I'm currently shopping for a 34", which is equivalent to a 27" but wider.

Text was blurry at first until I adjusted. My picture is adjusted to "custom" (FPS modes make text poor), using DisplayPort, ratio "Wide", sharpness 50, DFC off, response time "Middle", FreeSync "On" (only available with DisplayPort cable). I also installed the drivers, and ran the "Adjust ClearType" Windows wizard. My text is very sharp now. If your text is blurry, use the monitor's "reset" function, in Windows go to "Display Options" and turn off the custom scaling/sign back in, and do it again to correct whatever was wrong.
