I'm not a fan of this, the stand is literally static and doesn't move in any way. Panel is nice. But there's literally only one button for everything.
I think what you are asking for is the features in the OSD menu. I honestly hate this LG series OSD. It provides nothing, buttons are annoying, and I really don't even bother with it. I think the features you are interested is called PictureInPicture and also SplitWindows / whatever. This monitor doesn't have those fancy features.
But I am using Windows 11 and this works perfectly. Spreadsheets actually show you to the full length of the monitor and makes it easier to fullscreen and see everything. Windows 11's built in window management is good enough.

Plus the argument that its actually 1080p with extra pixels on the side versus QHD (2560x1440) with less vertical pixels is...silly. Its both, since it is 2560 pixels wide (so is QHD with fewer vertical pixels) but also is just 1080 pixels tall, so 1080p "with extra side pixels".

I might've gotten the larger version, but that one wouldn't fit, given my desk with a hutch. This one fit fine.

If not, then here's my observation on why it matters (I had this monitor for sometime but gave it away). The width of the monitor is what is unusual compared to regular widescreen. On the height side, it's only 1080p. Pixel density looks quite bad. I came from a 2560x1440p and I couldn't get adjusted to this resolution of "stretched 1080p". I'm sure this is subjective and may not look bad to somebody else's eyes.

I bought mine for $200 about 3 years ago so this isn't exactly a screaming deal. I'm currently shopping for a 34", which is equivalent to a 27" but wider.
Text was blurry at first until I adjusted. My picture is adjusted to "custom" (FPS modes make text poor), using DisplayPort, ratio "Wide", sharpness 50, DFC off, response time "Middle", FreeSync "On" (only available with DisplayPort cable). I also installed the drivers, and ran the "Adjust ClearType" Windows wizard. My text is very sharp now. If your text is blurry, use the monitor's "reset" function, in Windows go to "Display Options" and turn off the custom scaling/sign back in, and do it again to correct whatever was wrong.
