According to Lego, the Delorean is going to 199.99 next month so technically this is 15% off LMAO

Picked up 3 on launch day, originally planned to build all 3 in their different movie modes but have so far opted to leave 2 in box.

I've ordered sets from Zavvi in the past, and I've heard YMMV on the boxes arriving in one piece, but from my experience Amazon has mangled Lego sets more often than Zavvi, and I've ordered some of the bigger Technic car sets from them. That said, it is much easier to get Amazon to replace or even refund when they obliterate your lego boxes so if you care about boxes it could be risky.

I've only had good and okay experiences with the sets I've gotten from Zavvi.

My worst experience is with Target. They sent me the DeLorean set with a hole big enough to stick my arm through and crushed flat on the bottom. The shipping box was 100% fine so it was mangled before it was even packed. CSR didn't give a shit either. Left a bitter taste. Did a little digging and it's pretty common that Target sends out completely mangled Lego set.

Amazon has sent me boxes that looks more beat up than Zavvi.

I bought 2 of those sets when they came out, and stored them away ever since, unopened. Good thing I did 🤑
So you can make a whole $30?

i'm in the same boat and with the price increase in august, might as well save those points for another set.

The Lego store has obviously been my best track record on pristine boxes, though if the shipping involves a tiny promo item those have been destroyed before too.. they are great for big boxes.

For most sets I still roll the dice with Amazon, because I know I can talk to a CSR if they destroy the box and they'll make it right. In one case they killed 3 boxes in a row because they kept bubble mailing it, the Amazon CSR just told me to keep all the sets and refunded me fully laugh out loud

I've had sets shipped from Target too, and in most cases they always use a box at least, unlike Amazon shippers who like to get creative with smaller sets and bubble mailers.

Check StockX prices buddy. The last sale was $144 and another for $210 in late June. I paid $35 each, so you do the math.

genuinely curious, why do people pay more for the old crappier looking one when they could just buy the newer one for less?

i get the older one is now longer made but doesn't quite make sense to me

Weird. Original post was for zavvi. Now it's a Walmart link to a 3rd party with mediocre reviews on non-lego stuff ... I'll pass
