Screws strip because the screw steel is too soft not the bit, otherwise you'd be striping the bit. #science

Heh just a waste of toolbox/shelf space. These things will certainly strip and malform with even the slightest bit of resistance (pun)

I'm looking to buy a nicer set for this exact reason, my cheapo craftsman set just strip the screws and bits and doubles or triples the amount of work.

What would you, or anyone recommend for a nicer set?

I will 100% recommend using the correct bit. If you use the wrong bit it makes it super easy to strip the screws. Just because Philips hole looks the same on screws doesn't mean it is, some bits fit better than others

U probably stripping screws cuz the bit u using worm out.. This happened to me. Kept stripping screw until I checked the bit and that thing was deformed and done for. Used a new one and haven't stripped a screw yet. Be on the look out for milwaukee Shockwave sets on sale at HD. They usually get posted here.
