Do NOT leave this plugged in overnight. The manual says this for battery life and safety. I nearly had a fire in my garage after leaving this plugged in to long. These batteries or chargers do not shut off when full like a cell phone or a Tesla. They keep charging and can cause excess heat or explosion. I came out in the morning to horrible burnt plastic smell, a fried battery and charger. Returned to Costco.

*Additional comments* did buy a new one from costco and have followed the instructions to a T and its been amazing. Love the bike!

these drain battery even if you don't use them. Mine was fully charged, left it in my trunk for 4 days and its completely dead when I took it out

The battery is not "NEW"

so it's a bit of gamble I think.

Lifespan of batteries are limited, so there's a trade-off from the reduced price of the refurbished products. Batteries represent a significant portion of cost so there's some risk the refurbished batteries are short lived and not providing the range and power expected.

Can these still be speed hacked (or did they change something to prevent doing that)?

I bought two of these at the Costco sale price last year. They are absolutely fantastic for what they are. Think of it like a beach cruiser meets an escooter. I liked the first two so much that I ordered a refurbished one from the website on a previous deal and the range and condition were both acceptable to me. This is a very slick deal at this price

FYI Route package protection is a waste of money and a scam.

I have this and bought this "bike" new from Costco. I do feel the battery have less power. I'm not sure if because I leave it plugin overnight, which the manual said not to do. But who willing to sit there for hrs waiting for the charger light turn green.

Anyway, it's a gamble. Goodluck.

I have one. I'm 6'1 and although it's doable it's not very comfortable to pedal. You can always get an extra long seat post though to fix the issue.

Good advice. This is where RTFM makes sense, practical and safety sense.

Maybe get a smart plug (perhaps that cheap Kasa plug that everyone got free on Prime Day) and remotely shut it off after a few hours (depending on how long it will approx. take to charge).

For sure. A 15 dollar smart plug could be the difference.

I'm not 6" and already feel like an elephant on a tricycle. Yes it is doable but isn't everything when you really put your mind to it? LOL However the price is attractive.

thanks. Look like another hit or miss cause mine is fine. I did heed that warning when I try it the 1st day. Plastic smell would get my attention and it didn't smell. I wasn't sure this is a dummy charger. Anyway, I should stop leaving it plug in.

When it was new, I hardly see the battery drop. After a year, on a full charged I still see the battery drop a notch doing full throttle to go up hill.

Also is it normal for it to have weak throttle when the battery is dying? Like there is no regulator to regulate the battery power. Does your battery indicator on the right handle get warm during use?
