Huh? This is the way zwave is supposed to work. Since these are wire/powered devices they essentially for a mesh network (via zwave).
Edit: I think I understand what you are referencing now. It was just odd the way you phrased it when I first read it, Correct, some add-on devices are essentially just remote wireless switches since they don't need the wires to control the circuit.

Fair enough. Sorry for the confusion.
My Honeywell/Jasco accessory dimmers do not have innate zwave capability, but instead directly link to the master via wires when setup in a typical 3-way config. The zwave master connects to the hub for status and remote control.
My issue with the Eatons is that there is a slight lag with the zwave control, even when directly associated to the master switch (or even with a local processing hub such as hubitat). I prefer my switches to have instant response.
The Eaton accessories would be useful if you're adding remote control and not retrofitting an existing 3/4-way setup (though it does require wired power, so... 🤔).
Here's one of them. Brickseek is showing the regular price but in-store they have yellow stickers with the updated pricing. I was at the North Dartmouth MA store.

Here is a Brickseek [brickseek.com] for the outlet....
I checked a few more and no deals.
Too bad the OP cannot post where they found the deals. If the OP was not a newbie to posting, I would down vote this listing.

Edit: I just realized I stumbled into a months-old post. Haha, I'm so sorry.
