Looks like a nice grill, but at this price point I'd recommend jumping on the Kamado Joe classic II. The KJ comes with heat deflectors for low and slow cooking. You'd have to purchase those separately for the gorilla.

I see the 18" Kamado Joe for $1,300, but the comparable 24" in one is $2,000...

This grill doesn't actually have as much cooking area as the 24 inch big joe or XL green egg. It has a second level cooking surface to increase the cooking area. Multi level cooking is useful in some circumstances but definitely not all. If you need additional surface area, you can purchase an accessory with the Kamado Joe to get a second level.
I don't know why they advertise this as 24 inch. Its definitely a bit deceptive.

Makes sense, does look quite a bit bigger than the KJ 18" though, so even if you're getting a bit more space on the 24", not sure it's worth an extra $1,300. I have the Grilla Primate which is a great propane grill/griddle, but don't know much about kongs, just seemed like a solid deal.

This does have 79 sq/inch more of cooking surface area when compared to the KJ classic. 250 vs 329. I'd still prefer having the KJ though. Way more accessories.

Agreed 100%, and I've owned a smaller grill just like this and then now a KJ big joe 2. These grills are fine, but need to be cheaper than this imo to be a great value compared to KJ.

One thing I noticed is this grill only has a 4 year warranty, compared to lifetime warranty on ceramics from companies like Kamado Joe and Big Green Egg, etc. Ceramic on kamado type grills does end up cracking sometimes, so it's nice to have a long warranty for that.

Per the Grilla website the warranty is indeed lifetime on ceramics and 4 years on all other parts. At ~ $760 shipped to my door and with a few stainless steel upgrades and a 20" cook surface this seems like a fair way for me to get in to the kamado game without going down in grill diameter too drastically from my current 22" Weber kettle. Gotta give those Tomahawks some room and the Big Joes are just too rich for my blood

Ah, well that's good if true then. I could only find them mentioning the 4 year warranty on their website. Where did you find the lifetime mention?

Yea I went back and looked and didn't see it anywhere clearly on the product page but the lifetime/4yr warranty is mentioned in the overview video on the website and it is also stated as such on the cardboard / crate packaging that arrived at my door. Did my initial setup and burn yesterday and it feels bigger than I thought it would (so glad!) and super efficient...took a loooooooooong time to cool down yet I still had usable lump the next day. Now its time to pull the wings from the brine, drench in spice rub and light back up for some slow and low action...with a plan to stoke the blaze for putting a crisp on the wings and to bake this sourdough that's proofing now. So stoked!
