I just called Boost , their customer service barely spoke English
got transferred to the cancelation department
the woman named Amanda told me that this is the price and the device is prepaid and I will not be charged if I don't use the device
If I want to use the device then I can buy a plan from their website.

I hope this helps

Any limitations On How I Use My Device? If you get a Device from DISH Wireless or a DISH Wireless authorized retailer without paying full price (MSRP) for the Device, you agree (1) within 60 days to activate and use this Device on the DISH Wireless network and (2) not to resell, trade in, or export, or participate or profit in the resale, trade in, or export of the Device to a third party until you have activated and used the Device on the DISH Wireless network and met all your other financial and contractual obligations to us. If you do this without meeting your obligations, we reserve the right to take any action we deem necessary, including charging you for the difference between the Device's full price and the price you paid for it, and seeking recovery of related damages. If you have a separate agreement with Boost to acquire, purchase, or lease a Device, any restrictions on resale in that agreement will also apply, so please refer to the terms of any such agreement to understand your rights to resell your Device. Any tampering with, reprogramming, reflashing, or unlocking of this Device without DISH Wireless's permission violates DISH Wireless's and third parties' rights under state and federal laws and could subject you to civil or criminal liability.

For those waiting on a confirmation email, just check your order status on boosts website and it should say the order was cancelled . I just took a pdf of that page just in case

Can you just get a $1 month trial SIM (https://deals.boostmobile.com/myp...-bundle-5g) and pop that in there? I expect that would count as "activated" because it's the same as if you bought this device to replace an existing Boost device you use.

No one is getting charged. There is no specific contract that you agreed to. The terms and conditions is a generic one and cant be applied. You can't charge random people without verification. I have 6 phones i purchased and everyone of those companies say they will charge full price if not activated. Guess what, im using it as a Wi-Fi device, no cell service and not one of those companies are charging me full price for the phone.

It's funny watching people jump hoops to cancel a $1 order.

This... people getting all crazy for no reason at all...

This is the link to TOS

https://www.boostmobile.com/conte...tions.html

It's not just for Wireless Hotspot only, if you check out other phones, it will show this too.

Glad I came back to take a look and get to read the BOLD red warning that wasn't there before!
Terrible way to scam customers!
Terrible experience.
As usual with unchecked corporate power, they could F the customers any way they see fit.
F Boost!
Called to cancel... have to wait for the confirmation email.

Just got off talking to customer service/sales rep and for what it's worth he said i wouldn't be charged if I didn't activate it since this is just a no contract prepaid at retail price just discounted.

Told me that TOS is a standard for most hotspot devices and it's mostly applied when the device is being bundled with a service or promotion, egg. Buy 1 month of service and receive the device for free etc. then the activation is required or be charged full price.

Otherwise it's just the standard reactivation fee of $10-20 beyond the 60 days if I ever want to use a service for it.

So in conclusion it's a $1 power bank or $11 or whatever the reactivation fee is after the 60 days

Do you call: 833-50-BOOST (833-502-6678) or there is a better number to call.

Chat doesn't work because I do not have a boost mobile number.

The rep seems to have to clue what to do and deny to transfer me to supervisor or sales. Help!

I just called and the representative stated that I would NOT be charged for not activating the device. The price I paid ($1) is all that will be charged via PayPal. After I thanked her though, she did try to get me to purchase a plan. I politely declined and she said that whenever I was ready, I could call back to activate the device.

This is unbelievable... The tech support lady said she created cancel requests, but she said she could not promise anything... So nervous
