Asics Nimbus 23 are running shoes for those who like a lot of cushioning.

Lots of sizes in a few colorways for men: $75
Very limited sizes (I only see 5, 5.5) in a few colorways for women: $45 NLA

I've been wearing Asics shoes everyday since their model 17. The version 23 of the Nimbus have no durability at all - do not waste your money, even $75 on version 23.
- Asics changed the top shoe material they are using in version 23 and I have 2 and 3 inch rips in my version 23 that has not happened in any other earlier model I own. I still have 3 pairs of version 19 that I use from time to time and each of those earlier models have just one hole where my toe poked through. On my version 23, which I have been wearing every day for the past 10 months (even have them on now) have 2 long rips in the fabric on the left foot and 3 half inch rips on the right foot. Because of this I have been forced to look at another manufacturer (any recommendations welcome, so far I've ordered some Innov-8 and K-swiss options?).
I've read the new 24 model is just as bad as the 23. In short, don't buy the version 23, even at $75!

Just once I would love to see a 13.5 other than directly from Asics (or just about any show manufacturer). It cannot be that uncommon to be between 13-14...

I was surprised and glad to see 12.5 on the list. I've had to buy them direct from Asics in the past.

Thanks for the feedback. Seems like most people had positive experiences from this thread. I just ordered the HOKA ONE ONE Arahi 5 for $78. Been wanting these so bad fro my flat feet.

Awesome shoes and great price on those. East bay had a bunch of solid running shoes for 40% off on top of the sale prices (crazy deals!) last week but I waited a day too long and they were sold out in my size in what I wanted. Now that I know East Bay is legit, i'll definitely be keeping a eye out for their future sales.

I've given up on asics. Used to be my favorite eons ago. Past 5 years at least, their quality is horrendous! Always their top models, and won't last me even a few weeks before they completely deform and/or lose cushioning. Not exaggerating Amazing what brand loyalty can do... Jumped shipped back to Nike and Adidas and won't be trying them for a LONG while.

I have the Nimbus 23 since last summer. I think they are fantastic shoes! I was maybe going to get a new pair of the 24s next spring, but I may just snag one of these 23s at half the price.

His not wrong. The previous models had better quality. This is the reason I left Asics.

Nimbus-22 suffered a premature death here. About 3 Fridays ago I had around 200 miles on a pair and unexpectedly the sky opened up and I got to run home 3 miles away with soles that became quickly saturated by pouring rain, but no choice but to run home squishing and sloshing. Immediately when I got home I put them in front of a space heater to dry out as quickly as possible. Unfortunately the life of them is now done! The springiness is gone! Normally I can get 400 miles out of a Nimbus before they 'feel' as battered. If they made the 23 in lesser materials don't think I want to by that, even on this sale. I usually pay $60 or less for my Nimbus but it's tough for a size13 to get that price. When I do I buy 3-4 pairs to last a year. Unfortunately running in my water-logged 22 helped mess up my back last Wednesday. My SI joint slipped due to lack of support and I'd unable to do much movement until yesterday. Chronic back problem for me for 20 years and the equipment (shoes) has to be top shape to help avoid this type of injury.

What would give me confidence buying from them is that they're owned by Foot Locker and have B&M stores. Hopefully they're not having issues with returns though.

Footlocker sold Eastbay last month to another company named BSN Sports. So the Eastbay unit mat be undergoing transition problems.

But nearly all shoe models are excluded from the HUSTLE40 discount code. Even a $15 pair of UA slides were excluded. Haven't come across any shoe that code works with.

I recently went to Asics from Nike. 1st shoe in a long time that didn't cause pain in my feet. What other brand do you recommend? I did notice my Asics suffering from tearing also.

That's sad to hear. I've been using Nimbus as my main running shoe since the Nimbus 12 or 13 and have loved them. They narrowed the toe box a bit too much at version 19 or 20 or so but still not bad enough to make me go looking for an alternate. Also don't love the new fabric they swapped to on the top at around the same time (doesn't breath as well).
When I first settled on the Nimbus I had also tried a Brooks Ghost and they felt nearly identical to me (but again, that was ~10 versions ago...I'm sure the Ghost has drifted as well) so you might want to try on a pair of those.

Nike makes terrible shoes now. Overpriced with questionable quality. I too switched from all Nikes to Asics about 5ish~ years ago.

Nike shoes are generally not wide friendly even if you size up

Many thanks for your reply - I'll be sure to check out the Brooks Ghost.
