Would never buy at that suggested retail/ full price. But still one of the best sounding Bluetooth speakers for $100 I have ever seen/heard. the v3 was a bit better but its still a great speaker.

I personally own both and use both for different situations. I also own 6 other sound setups for different situations LOL. I personally would recommend getting the Oynx if you can accept how big it is and it's limited battery life.

Still have a TDK A360 that is still going strong minus when it's on battery. Tempting at this price. I recall being able to pair 2 of these together, is that still possible with the newer versions?

Honestly the same comparison, Charge is 2x bigger than the flip and has a fuller sound, but the Onyx is still huge compared to the charge and in turn has significantly better sound. I would get the Oynx because it's massively on sale and will spoil you sound wise that you won't be able to use any other speaker. I would only get the flip or charge if that's all you can fit. The size of the speaker is the biggest factor to sound quality as long as we are discussing reputable companies. A lot of no name brands have large speakers but trash sound, when talking quality brands sound quality is going to be based on size, and in this case there is also a massive discount making the Oynx the easy choice.

I have the onyx 3, but I'm sure very similar to 4. Have had it for 5 years and still one of the best in the market in terms of sound quality. Nothing comes close at this price for the bass. Of course, battery is not great but keep in mind it has 2 tweeters and a woofer. This thing can do stereo and you can definitely hear the difference. If you have two of these, you can hook em up wireless to act as separate monos. Also, if you don't have it plugged it while playing, power output reduces by half (and thus volume). Soon as you plug it in, volume will double.

I've had the ONYX 1 for years and brought it with me to Cancun. The swim up bar at the resort didn't have any music so I went up to my room and brought the speaker down. Plugged it in behind the bar and became the DJ for the day. I was taking requests, people were dancing, it was great. This thing is not very portable and you need to have it plugged in at all times for best usage and sound quality. As long as you know that going in, it will serve you well. Nothing compares on sound.
