Just noting for anyone unaware that these can be dangerous in that US outlets are typically rated at 15 amps. Since these extension cords are only rated for 13 amps, a hazard is created in that you can exceed the limits of the cord (and cause a fire) without tripping a circuit breaker.

I did not even realize that they still sold this style of cord! I have a whole bunch of vintage ones, which some collect certain colors so I'll sell those for "decorative use" but I would not feel safe using any cord without a ground or directly connected to a outlet with a circuit breaker on it. I'm honestly quite surprised these are allowed to be sold on Amazon. It is a great price though, but maybe better for a country that has a lower amperage, like the above mentioned Wink

Definitely good advice. And you are correct in that you should never exceed the rated limit of a cord.
But if a person is pulling down the entire 15A of current in this power cord, safety and reasonable is way....WAY in the rearview mirror. EEK!
