I got a bunch of these from Home Depot when they cleared them out for around $30. They do sound good; but the bass is lacking. Not sure I'd spend $60 on them.
The real benefit of these are they are Airplay 2.0. You can set up several throughout the house and stream from an iOS device simultaneously. In conjunction with an airport express to a traditional sound system with sub, they fill the house well.
I think this is a new generation so maybe doesn't apply here but I had the Link 20 (larger version) for a few years and it was OK. Sound and battery was alright but the "smart" feature was absolutely annoying. Grouping it with other google speakers caused all kinds of troubles. But the absolute worst thing was the slow start of the speaker. When you turned it on it took about 2 minutes (!) to finally play music. And I mean any music. Just to connect to your phone via bluetooth. I think it probably tied to connect to some wifi and when that wasn't available (like on the beach) it waited for some timeout until it let you play music.
I hope they fixed that and if not, don't buy! It will annoy you too much

I also got in on that $30.00 Homedepot deal but ended up returning them pretty quick. My 2nd Gen Echos sound quite a bit better.
I don't have one to compare with. I believe this is 20w if that helps. You could always buy, it's risk free since JBL has free ship/returns.
will give it a shot. its just for the patio music, but want something with Airplay. Between my receiver and our Rokus I can stream the same music around the whole house with Airplay. Mostly in sync with each other lol..

Best of luck! I had several Airplay 1 speakers I could stream to simultaneously via iTunes on pc/mac, but I had frequent drop outs. With Airplay 2 I've been much happier with the results
