It definitely runs hot, and frustratingly HP has it come installed with these 2 brackets inside the case essentially "BLOCKING" the mesh vent on the side panel.
1. One is for a Hard Drive caddy - WHICH FOR SOME REASON HP DOESN'T USE to install the 1TB HD that's included. They install it to the front of the case- partially blocking the airflow from the side panel.
2. The other is a mesh bracket where you can mount 1 additional fan, but you need to buy a fan splitter as the MB only has 2 4-pin outlets: 1 for the CPU fan and 1 for the posterior exhaust fan.
I haven't installed the case fan yet. I'll get around to it, especially if it gets ultra toasty.
I don't recommend this machine unless it's going for less than $900.
Correct, HP and Dell still use proprietary parts, so your ability to make modifications are limited. There is a bracket to mount one additional fan for the case, but you need a fan splitter. The PC gets kind of loud and hot too if you're maxing out your game settings.
If you can get for less than $900 then it's a decent deal, especially if you want a modern machine that can do MOST things. Otherwise consider building your own now that GPU prices are gradually getting cheaper.
This was $800 ish just a few weeks ago? Where's the deal?

Hi, PennyFound. The title currently reads, "512GB SSD, 512GB SSD, 1TB HDD." I think there's only one SSD and one HDD, so you may have repeated the SSD part by accident.
Isn't the problem with these HP and Dell prebuilts that a lot of the parts are proprietary? And if you want to upgrade down the road, you're basically SOL? Let me know if that's not the case, but that is my main concern. Otherwise specs seem good for price.

I was thinking the same (source). It was $835.99 on 06/30/2022, with the only difference is that was listed on eBay - but it was still sold directly by HP.
If these are two different systems, please let me know.

Was wondering about the same, willing to do a case swap if that is possible, a cheap $50 case plus two more fans will hopefully make it run much cooler.
