CyberPower sucks got 4 units failed from 8 we bought in 2020.
old APC from 2017 still running strong.
never again CyberPower ! refurb even worse.
also some CyberPower modells put out only 90-100 volt !
fact i tried CyberPower but will never buy anything again from them.
I have several and all work great. 3 year warranty should give you free replacement.
Only thing to watch for is when the batteries no longer charge to 100%. Replace batteries immediately. My 1500va tried to keep charging it and the battery got really hot. Some other people have had exploded batteries because of this. Other than that, perfect ups.
I have never used a CyberPower ups but had a bad experience with APC. It had an audible alarm whenever there was a power fluctuation. A very loud alarm. Painful, inducing a migraine loud. That could only be shut off by killing power to the ups.
In Philly, most power issues are a hiccup that flickers the lights for a second or a outage that last sometimes less than a minute to a few minutes. So, I would have to shut everything down and reboot just to shut the alarm off. Even though the power was usually back before I could start the shutdown. This was incredibly annoying and happened about once a week or more in the summer. I think the alarm was loud enough to cause hearing loss. I know my ears were ringing afterwards for sure.
So anyone know how the alarms work for these newer models and if they can be shut off without cutting power to the ups?
I have 6 of the Pure Sine Wave 1500VA models Purchased about 4 years ago and just replaced batteries on all of them. Yes, the 1500PFCLCD Model does have a button on the front to mute the alarm and you also have the option to permanently mute it so it never alerts when switching to battery power. My neighbor bought 3 refurbs from an online store that was widely advertised, and everything seemed to work fine on those so far. That was about a year ago. Overall, I am pleased with both the new and refurb models we have had. I also APC units, but when they came on to save the day, they initially worked great for a few years. Then I had to replace the batteries in both of them, and after a year or two, they began causing the PC to actually reboot when they switched on!!! Crazy. Like the other user, I had to power them off to actually get them to go back to normal standby again. I replaced the batteries a 3rd time although the others were fine and they did the same thing so out to the curb they went. Cyberpower 1500PFCLCD had been a great device for me for many years now, and they continue to work in my home here in power glitchy Florida. If I needed a UPS, I would likely take a chance on these as they likely have a warranty on them if they are coming from Woot.
