Got one from Best Buy because they matched the Prime Day price, already have a handful of Apple devices and my TV with Fire TV built in is buggy and slow as hell. It's amazing how much smoother the ATV is compared to the Fire TV.

you mean 1/6 of the price, sure you can get a fire stick for $20 that stream the same content,

but for the smoothness of UI and picture quality along with reliable performance (doesn't random freeze up like fire stick 4k does) i would say ATV win hands down and justified the cost, the only thing ATV doesn't do well is steam game streaming which is a shame.

i see people out in the public use iPhone 12 way more than people with those cheap $50 android phone, gotta be something do well

I received 4k one few days ago to replace older gen 4k. Issue is that dolby vision no longer works on same av receiver and hdmi cable that perfectly worked on older gen 4k. Anyone had same issue? Not sure if i have to try different hdmi cable? Mine is 8k ready cable

Do any of these devices allow you to plug in an OTA antenna? I use a Roku and I would like to get an OTA antenna and it would be great to plug that antenna into a streaming device. I would appreciate not having to leave the streaming device to watch live TV. Plus I think it would make cord management a little neater.

Also, can you plug a streaming device right into your AV receiver? I've don't watch a ton of TV but I have a small surround system and only use the TV that is hooked to the surround system for dvd movies and gaming, therefore the reason for the dumb questions

Picked up this Apple Tv on prime day to replace my previous Apple Tv 4k. When I connected the older one to my Sony amp and lg C1, atmos would not work correctly. Swapped out the device and atmos was recognized. Not sure what the issue was as atmos worked on previous tv. Thought I would share my experience for new C1 owners too

I have similar issue. Dolby vision worked perfectly with older gen apple 4k tv. Suddenly not supported with exact same tv receiver, and cable with new gen. Replaced back to old gen and everything works perfectly. Have you tried other hdmi cables?

I tried other hdmi cables that have worked for hdr, atmos and Dolby vision but it did not resolve my issue. The c1 supports eARC and so does this Apple Tv, I'm not sure if this is what resolved it for me. I swapped the Apple TV on a whim to see if it worked because my series X recognized atmos on the new setup and i happened to get lucky i guess
